If you cannot switch to Microsoft drivers (you activate RAID mode in your BIOS?), you can try installing VitualCloneDrive, this will install ElbyCDIO interface. Try to switch to that in ImgBurns IO options, it helped me a bit as with it I didn't get burn failures, but there were still some minor issues, so I still switched to the default Microsoft driver, after that, no problems.

I really wouldn't recommend to use the latest SATA drivers, especially if it's a board with nVidia chipset. The best possible driver to use wit ImgBurn is the default driver from Microsoft, using anything else is just asking for troubles. And ImgBurn especially hates the new AHCI drivers (9.x and newer) from nVidia, on my system it completely breaks (failed burns, bad burn quality, sense errors etc., but Nero still works fine and when I tried cdrecord, it worked as well and it was a pretty old version).

A test version for translators would be nice, I already finished translation to Czech (I'm translating under a different name - khagaroth), but before I submit it, I want to check if everything is displayed correctly.

Well, as I already said, it's possible to translate it to some extent. I translated it to Czech, so that my parents can use it.

If you know how to use a resource editor, you can translate the main window, configuration dialog an main/context menus. But there are still many dialogs and strings (mainly error/log strings, balloon tooltips and the dialogs that appear when you ad single directory etc.) that cannot be translated this way as they are not in the RCData resource section (they could be translated using a HEXa editor, but I would like to see someone crazy enough to try that). This is how a Czech translation looks like:

Ok, these are the problem files:
A few problems here (Microsofts, not ImgBurn's):
ISO9660 filesystems cannot have folders with extensions.
ISO9660 filesystems cannot have files without extensions.
ISO9660 filesystems cannot have folder / files with characters in them that are anything except A-Z, 0-9 and _
So MS broke all the rules when naming the folder/files for this disc.
There's nothing really for me to 'fix' as technically I'm doing nothing wrong.
Actualy, they didn't broke anything, they are using ISO9660:1999 (some programs call it ISO Level 4).

Well, I already burned 12 (6/6) discs after I discovered this and in all cases it behaved like this, I also burned 5 discs with Nero and it burned them all at 8x.

When I'm burning this media brand - Giga master DVD+R 1 - 8x (MPOMEDIA 080-000) ImgBurn behaves very strange. If I first launch ImgBurn and then insert the disk, it burns only at 4x, but if I first insert the disk and open ImgBurn after the drive fully loaded it, it burns at 8x with no problems. Device info shows correct info in both cases and writing speed is set to max.

I read UDF specification, and it seams that UDF uses unicode (more specificaly a specialy compressed subset of unicode 1.1), so will UDF realy be supported.

I hope at least the ISO creation part (folder/file names/label) will be in unicode, or at least, somehow handle codepage conversions, because othervise, it will be unusable in nonenglish environment.

The Change Volume Label is not working corectly with non ASCI characters. If I write a label (UDF) with non ASCI characters, it is shown corectly in the Change volume label dialog, but is garbled in the main window and also after burning (ie. ě?čř????? becomes ?????????). If I create an image using mkisofs, the volume label is garbled in the main window an also in the Change volume label dialog, but is shown corectly in Windows (after it's burned). Also if I create UDF only image, ImgBurn shows also ISO9660 label.

You don't need source code to write plugins, all you need is a documented plugin API. Only type of plugins I can think of that would be useful are input plugins for image formats and input plugins for audio decoding (to avoid DirectShow/ACM bugginess and limitations).
