  1. Yes I did. Some more info, I tried this with identical set-up on another computer and it was fine. I then tried the second disk drive with the Nero copy function on the problem computer and it worked !! So I must have a faulty disk drive ?? Yet building with Nero makes a perfect disk on the drive in question. The copy function does not ! Strange.
  2. Hi. Thanks for all your help with my DVD issues, all resolved. I have an issue now thats probably a lot simpler but it's puzzling me. I use Nero copy CD function ( through habit ! ) to make my backup CD's and have never had a problem. But just today I made 4 CD's that when played was unable to select the tracks except track 1. If you load them they play, but all the tracks play as if they were a single track. The other tracks are showing as tracks 2,3,4,5 etc but if you try to select them it freezes. On my PC (Windows media player) , it is OK, but on both my stand alones, and in the car , this problem occurs. I can get round it by building the CD as individual tracks but just wondered what may be causing this. Also after track 1 has finished, I lose the time counter on the player screens even though play continues. Thanks
  3. Great thanks. First time I have performed a firmware upgrade. So extra write speeds can be added ? What was strange is that the manufacturer's spec said x2, x4 for BD-R DL but my drive was supplied with YL02 firmware which only supported x2 for this (although ImgBurn did report a x4 speed burn with the YL02 older firmware). The upgrade to YL05 now shows supported speeds consistent with manufacturer's specs.
  4. Notice the updated firmware added 4x as another supported write speed, so yes, the burner does support that type of media.
  5. Here is disk info with updated firmware. 6. Sorry about the misposting. here is the info:- HL-DT-ST BD-RE GGW-H20L YL02 (ATA) Current Profile: BD-R Disc Information: Status: Empty State of Last Session: Empty Erasable: No Free Sectors: 24,438,784 Free Space: 50,050,629,632 bytes Free Time: 5430:52:34 (MM:SS:FF) Next Writable Address: 0 Supported Write Speeds: 2x BD Disc Information (L0): Disc ID: TDKBLD-RFD-00 Disc Type: BD-R Disc Size: 120mm Disc Class: 0 Disc Version: 1 Number of Layers: 2 Just to add, the GGWH20L specification says it will support x2 and x4 for BD-R DL and I have successfully burnt at x4 with a version 1.2 disk for this format with ImgBurn (write speed said x4 in the log at the time).
  7. Hi. I have LG GGWH20L which seems ok with Blu-Ray disk versions 1.2 and 2.1. But I would like to know if I can use TDK BD-R 50GB which says version 1.3 on the case. I put the blank into the disk drive and ImgBurn has identified the disk TDKBLD-RFD-00. Does this mean it is compatible ? What are the differences between these disk versions ? Thanks.

  9. Thanks. Great tutorial on the AWS feature. I will set the write speeds according to the disk ID's.
  10. Well not by choice I ended up burning a Verbatim BD-R DL 50GB 1-2x at 4x and (whoopee ! ) it worked just fine. So it is possible to create a playable disk burning higher than the max speed quoted on the disk ? What is the limit here ? Surely I couldn't burn this at say 6x or 8x ?
  11. OK thanks. I will try to find out what DVDFab is doing then. I will check out your link as well. I also note that BD-R DL 50GB is available in 4x so I can get round the problem if unsolved. I am totally impressed with your speed of reply and will make a donation !!
  12. Thanks for fast reply and advice ! I appreciate drive speeds. The GGWH20L does support x2 (CLV) and x4 for BD-R DL. After the image was created, DVDFab opens Imgburn and a menu comes up with x6, x12, recommended, slowest and fastest options. I think this menu is from Imgburn. So maybe I could select recommended ? I am not sure how to do the burn independently from DVDFab. There is a BDMV and Certificate folder created in a file on the HD. Sorry if this is very basic question.
  13. Hi. Just used DVDFab to make backup of Blu-Ray disk (BD-R DL). Selected x2 speed with DVDFab. Imgburn then offered me x12 or x6 , slowest, fastest or recommended. The disk is 1-2x . How can I make it burn at x2 ? If I select x6 I am sure the drive will burn at its max speed of x4, too fast for my media. Want to get this right coz the disks are 10GBP a shot. Thanks.
