One more thing. To get the best results and less failed sessions when make images or writing to disk, is it recommended to turn off your AV/IS program? I have read and talked to people, some say yes and others say it doesn't matter.

When you say "file name," you're talking about ImgBurn automatically selecting ISO or BIN/CUE, right? How about the 1:1 image?

Thanks for clearing that up. So music CDs have multisession. How do I tell if a disk has a multisession? Does ImgBurn do a 1:1 images of disk?

I've been looking at creating an image back ups of my music CDs, software (Windows disk, Office disk and similar software), and movie DVDs just in case something happens to the originals. I thought that I could just use ISO for all my images but some of my findings indicate that I use BIN/CUE for music CDs. After I found that out and did some more reading, I'm now not really sure how to determine when to use a certain image format. Could someone please clarify when to use ISO, when to use BIN/CUE, or other format to write images? Does it matter when I'm making an image of files from my computer? Mix data like music, movies, Office documents, and application files. Thank for your time, Arvin L.

Sorry for the late response. You were right, my KIS somehow had multiple entries for ImgBurn but it's fix now, thanks for the help. On another note, any reason that UDF labels only show the first 32 character of the a 63 character label?

I used ImgBurn to make the original image of 3.00 GB. Then used WinRAR to unpack the original image, with the unpack folder 3.01 GB in size compared to the image. After I delete the ei.cfg file, I used the method you posted and Extract Boot Image that gives me 3.02 GB as the final size compared to the original image.

I've made the image already for the Win7 and I just want to know the difference in size after repack. Even using the method ianymaty posted, I still have the same problem. Just another curiosity again, what's the difference between using the guide ianymaty posted and the Extract Boot Image from the original disk method?

Well the Win7 image is Ultimate that I deleted a file to be able to pick which version to install. The utility is Offline NT Password & Registry Editor that I added a test file for the instructions. I figured out something since then about the utility and using ImgBurn to repack, it doesn't work as the utility is an Linux base. So I'm still curious about the size difference...

This is not really a problem to me personal but just a curiosity. I'm making bootable images of a utility and Win7 installation disk that I modified from the original images. The utility I add a text file and the installation disk I deleted a small file from the original image I made. Everything is set up the same as the original in ImgBurn but the utility finished file is smaller even though I added to it and the installation disk is slightly larger than what I started from. Thank you! I was rattling my head trying to find that option. The only one that was change was that and the File System, which I usually leave at ISO9660 + Joliet + UDF (1.02). I don't know why Recurse Subdirectorieswas unchecked... Is it alright to to leave my File System the way I had it? Thank you for your time, FlipD9

I'm trying to burn a Data disk of my files, I select a folder but it doesn't include the folders within that folder or any sub-folders, E:\Folder\Folder I\Folder I-i\... It adds the files that's in that primary folder but not any folders at all. I've tried it in Standard and Advance Input mode with no luck. I was able to cope with using the Advance mode by creating the folders again and again within that folder and then adding all the file; but so tedious! Is there a way to just add a folder and everything is added even how many folders and sub-folder there are? I know I can do it with CDBurnerXP and Nero but there not my primary burning software and there only in my other computers that I don't use. Thank you for your time, FlipD9
