I appreciate you trying to help me, mmalves, but it doesn't seem like your answer makes sense to me. The burner has no problem with the media.

The last line of the log seems to imply that the burner did recognize the media. Also I have used this burner with 200+ of the same dvd+r's (TDK)

The comment, "Logical Unit not ready, Cause not reportable" occurs before I can even select the files I wish to burn.

A nursing tutor gave me several .iso files to help prepare for the certification exam. He suggested that they could be burned onto cd's. I found ImgBurn, and thought it could help me do that.

I just installed ImgBurn for the first time. The status bar at the bottom states, "Logical Unit not ready, Cause not reportable". I realize that my issue may be vague, since it's a case of "Cause not reportable". I hoped that there might be a suggestion of something that I could try to rectify the situation.
