@spinningwheel Yep - I tried the 4 speed and got the odd failure I have used this brand for many years without a dud :--\ I guess the log file doesn't indicate what has failed here? (the drive or the media) Cheers

OK but that will be next week, probably I am burning RWs at the moment MODE SENSE: 11,080 KB/s (8x), GET PERFORMANCE: 8,310 KB/s (6x) What I don't understand is the GET PERFORMANCE set at 6x then still burns at 8x No complaints, obviously - just a knowledge thing Cheers
