  1. Sorry if you feel I wasted your time. I did read the change log for ver. 2.1.0.0 again and again but could not find any mention of a fix that seemed directly related to my problem. I wasn't sure if it was media related or program related, therefore not sure if upgrading would solve it. That is why I thought I'd ask. If I did miss the relevant entry in the log, perhaps you would be so kind to point out to me. Thanks.
  2. Point taken. Actually that DVD played fine. It's sometimes hard to keep up with new releases of all the progs on the computer. Same with new firmware, drivers.

  4. Is manual verification after burning is completed possible without the iso (the files were burned directly to DVD)?
  5. TBH it doesn't bother me: using Arcam DV88 to play it's not a major issue. I suppose some DVDs I watch (concerts etc) is split into sections anyway so the layer break may well occur between sections.
  6. In the Create Layer Break Position window, Very Good star is a blue colour. But when one LBA set is highlighted, whatever star next to it changes to blue. Although not identical to the blue of Very Good, it's somewhat confusing at times, esp. for the green and what stars before highlighting. So, can the Very Good star be assigned another colour?
  7. I think he might find this confusing: Write Mode only lets you choose image files to burn. To burn files directly from the HD, you have to go to Build Mode and choose DVD-ROM drive as Destination.
  8. Many thanks for taking the trouble to explain the above. The verification plot has a gradient (the speed increases) in the good burn graph, does that mean something in particular? So this is the tool I need to install to display the graph? http://www.dvdinfopro.com/ At the bottom of the graphs, I see: Download ImgBurn Run Imgburn, so there's some connection between DVDInfo and ImgBurn?
  9. I see lots of DVDInfo graphs in the Media section. The DVDInfo and DVDInfoPro (by Nic Wilson) I search on Google look different. Is it another tool built-in or plug-in in ImgBurn? And is there a guide somewhere on how to interpret the graphs? What is a good burn supposed to look like? Thanks
  10. Burn failure may well not be related to re-encoding. Save the files to HD and test them first.
  11. Thanks again. I've always assumed that is all hardware (DVD player) related.
  12. Mode > Write Source > select nrg But if you want to burn a standard DVD, make sure you author it properly. Nrg is Nero image file.
  13. Sorry if it seems obvious, is this the presence or absence of slight pause when switching layers during play, or something else?
  14. I see. I haven't watched a superbit DVD. How do I know if my player support seamless layer break?
  15. I asked about SPLIP here: http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=2016 % is the proportion of files on the 1st and 2nd layer. The PGC and Cell correspond to the same you see in IfoEdit.
  16. That answers my question, thanks. I did look at the guides before, but somewhere along I overlooked the fact that during Build to device output, the layer break window still pops up asking you.
  17. Thanks. Actually, I've noticed some of the original DVD's layer breaks are set at SPLIP=YES. Just an observation. But I'd use NO when building.
  18. What I'm asking is, if we burn directly from files, how do we or the prog control the layer break?
  19. I've used ImgBurn 2 to burn five DL DVDs all successfully using Pioneer DVR111D and Verbatim media. Thanks for the program! I know you're supposed to choose the layer break when SPLIP is NO, but what's SPLIP? I can't find any info here or in Google. I should add that I've found it every helpful as reference, when the original DVD is available, to look at where the layer break is, in Mode>Verify. Then compare this with the choice(s) given during Build.
  20. For DL media, doesn't the prog need the layer break info in the mds? Or can the prog do this in the background when burning DVD files from the HD directly?
