  1. "Set Read Speed" is unchecked and the grayed out "Read Speed" is listed as "MAX". All other boxes are unchecked except for "Enable SpeedRead DVD (Plextor)". These are probably the defaults.
  2. After I made the original post, I burned another CD to pay closer attention to what was going on. The verify took about 15 minutes. I found that for almost the entire verify, the rate was 4x. Then for the last ten seconds, the speed jumped up. The log is posted below. It includes creating an ISO image from an original, burning the ISO to disc and the automatic verify. -- I 14:26:45 Operation Started! 3. Using another CD recording program, I burned on ISO to a 4x CD-RW disc. The burn completed and then the program automatically verified the disc taking a couple of minutes. It reported the read speed on verify as 24x speed. Using Imgburn 2.3.2.0, I burned another ISO to the same type of 4x CD-RW disc. The burn completed and then Imgburn automatically verified the disc at 4x speed taking almost 20 minutes.
  4. Using ImgBurn 2.1.0.0, I select "Tools -> Drive -> Erase Disc -> Full" and wait while ImgBurn erases the disc. When it is done, it pops up a message box stating, "Operation Completed Successfully". I click OK and try to close ImgBurn (because I am done with it) and it gives me the error message: "Erasing Disc... Sorry, you cannot cancel this operation." If I wait a bit, I am then able to close ImgBurn.
  5. I think the idea is that when you burn the ISO, you create a list of MD5 values for each file (not just the ISO file itself). Then during verify, you compute the MD5 for each file and compare. Unless there is one big file on the CD/DVD, that gives the user a pretty good idea of where the error is. But as Darkfalz says, the idea of MD5 verification isn't meant to replace the "verify against file" verification method, but it is a great alternative to the normal method.
  6. Actually, the problem is that I have 50 brand new DVD+RW discs. Once formatted, they work fine with ImgBurn. But it's a pain when using the new ones. The other thing I found, is that any disc I used with Nero (even if I did a full format with Nero) shows up as "Formatted: No (Started)". So any old discs give me this problem as well. It would just be really convenient to have all the dialog boxes displayed at the start of a burn, so I can leave and have it done when I come back.
  7. When using ImgBurn to record to a DVD+RW disc, this is how it generally goes: 1. I click on the start button, ImgBurn tells me it needs to erase the disc. 2. ImgBurn does a full erase. That takes about 15 minutes. 3. ImgBurn pops up a summary dialog, and I must click OK to start the burn. 4. ImgBurn burns the disc. That takes about 15 minutes. 5. ImgBurn verifies the disc. That takes about 15 minutes. Ideally, I'd like to click the start button, leave and come back to a freshly recorded disc. With the way things are now, if I leave for an hour, I'll come back to a summary screen that I must click on before the burn will start. It would be really convenient if that summary screen could be displayed before the disc is erased. Thanks.
