  1. Just to leave a record for people with similar problems in the future, updating the chipset drivers managed to fix the problem. So yeah, if your external drive keeps disappearing, try going to your chipset manufacturer's website for the latest chipset drivers. Could help.
  2. ImgBurn is giving me the following error message: "Device Not Ready" (The Specified Network Resource or Device is No Longer Available.)" It seems to detect my drive initially, though. Here is a copy of the log: I 22:51:12 ImgBurn Version 2.1.0.0 started! I 22:51:12 Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600 : Service Pack 2) I 22:51:12 Initialising SPTI... I 22:51:12 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices... I 22:51:12 Found 1 DVD?RW/RAM! Here is what I'm doing and system specs: LG GSA-H10N burner -Connecting via USB enclosure and the drive seems to read other disks properly while in the enclosure HP DVD-R 4.7GB 16X media (sorry, I have no other information on this) Windows XP SP2, all updates installed ASUS Z71A laptop, no optical drive installed P-M 1.73GHz, no overclock/underclock, 1GB RAM, 40GB HD, etc. Please ask if you require other specs or more detail and I will post them ASAP. Here's what I've tried: Updating the firmware to J11 (unsolved) Are there any solutions to keep this drive detected and available for ImgBurn? The drive itself seems to be in fine working condition for other discs, even when connected via USB. Thank you in advance for your advice.
