  1. The layout is common to the two different brands of DVR that we have, and I suspect it may be common to all. The disc info below is of one burned on each DVR. In addition to recording TV shows, we use the DVR to edit our camcorder videos and record the final result to DVD. The PC has superior editing tools but that is solo work and by porting it to DVR we can watch together on the large screen and decide/agree on where to divide and what to cut out. The contents can be of 1-18 titles, but there is only a single recording followed by finalizing. DVD recorders are the most fragile component of DVRs so copies made for family members are duped on the PC. > I might be able to add an exception for layouts like that but I'm not > sure I have the means to create such a disc that I could use for testing. The Disc Info of "Sessions: 1" would probably be enough, and if you send me your address I can mail you a couple of DVDs for testing. The Matsushita format of three short tracks preceding the three long tracks looks like title and content but the Funai has 8 titles and no short/longs that correspond. ------------------------------------ HP DVD Writer 1040r MH21 Current Profile: DVD-R Disc Information: Status: Complete State of Last Session: Complete Erasable: No Sessions: 1 Sectors: 1,858,272 Size: 3,805,741,056 bytes Time: 412:58:72 (MM:SS:FF) Supported Read Speeds: 1x, 2x, 4x, 6x, 8x, 12x, 14.1x, 16x Current Read Speed: 6.4x - 14.1x TOC Information: Session 1... 2. No special tools, just a DIR of the DVD drive. The original DVD was finalized after being recorded by the DVR (it's unreadable elsewhere until that is done). The original DVD does not look like a multi-session disc, there is only one session listed in TOC Information. Surely the absence of File System Information or more than one recorded track in Session 1 does not make a single session disc into multi-session. ------------------------------------------------ Original DVD TOC Information: Session 1... 3. What you say makes sense, but the situation here bears no resemblance. The DIRs in my post show identical contents for the original and ImgBurned DVDs. The size of the ISO file from each is identical. ImgBurn recognizes the original as multi-session. ImgBurn does not recognize the DVD it recorded as multi-session. Is multi-session a flag or a condition?
  4. Starting with 2.5.6 I started getting the error message: Sorry, using Read mode to create an image file from a multi-track DVD-R disc is not currently supported. Instead, use Build mode to create a new 'clean' image based on the contents of the disc. The change log told me the process had been improved: Added/Changed: Prevent Read mode from being used to create (useless) image files of multi-session/track DVD/HD DVD/Blu-ray discs and suggest using Build mode to create a new image based on the contents of the disc instead. Below is a directory of two discs, the source and ImgBurn 2.5.7. Since the two are identical except for a null AUDIO_TS directory generated by ImgBurn, what are the 'useless' image files being referred to as justification? Disabling the Read mode method of copying seems to have done nothing more than made the exercise more clumsy. Can anyone help me out by explaining the benefit of this 'improvement'? ------------------------------------------------- DVR 2012-01-20 00:04 [DIR] D:\VIDEO_RM DVR 2012-01-20 00:04 [DIR] D:\VIDEO_TS DVR 2012-01-20 00:04 1,048,576 D:\VIDEO_RM\VIDEO_RM.DAT DVR 2012-01-20 00:04 167,936 D:\VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.VOB DVR 2012-01-20 00:04 32,768 D:\VIDEO_RM\VIDEO_RM.BUP DVR 2012-01-20 00:04 32,768 D:\VIDEO_RM\VIDEO_RM.IFO DVR 2012-01-20 00:04 12,288 D:\VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.BUP DVR 2012-01-20 00:04 12,288 D:\VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.IFO DVR 2012-01-19 07:44 1,073,709,056 D:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_1.VOB DVR 2012-01-19 07:44 1,073,709,056 D:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_2.VOB DVR 2012-01-19 07:44 1,073,709,056 D:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_3.VOB DVR 2012-01-19 07:44 549,552,128 D:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_4.VOB DVR 2012-01-19 07:44 141,312 D:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_0.BUP DVR 2012-01-19 07:44 141,312 D:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_0.IFO IMG 2012-01-20 00:04 [DIR] D:\AUDIO_TS IMG 2012-01-20 00:04 [DIR] D:\VIDEO_RM IMG 2012-01-20 00:04 [DIR] D:\VIDEO_TS IMG 2012-01-20 00:04 1,048,576 D:\VIDEO_RM\VIDEO_RM.DAT IMG 2012-01-20 00:04 167,936 D:\VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.VOB IMG 2012-01-20 00:04 32,768 D:\VIDEO_RM\VIDEO_RM.BUP IMG 2012-01-20 00:04 32,768 D:\VIDEO_RM\VIDEO_RM.IFO IMG 2012-01-20 00:04 12,288 D:\VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.BUP IMG 2012-01-20 00:04 12,288 D:\VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.IFO IMG 2012-01-19 07:44 1,073,709,056 D:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_1.VOB IMG 2012-01-19 07:44 1,073,709,056 D:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_2.VOB IMG 2012-01-19 07:44 1,073,709,056 D:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_3.VOB IMG 2012-01-19 07:44 549,552,128 D:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_4.VOB IMG 2012-01-19 07:44 141,312 D:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_0.BUP IMG 2012-01-19 07:44 141,312 D:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_0.IFO
