  1. How do I find out what speed did Windows Disc Image burn the disk on? It did not provide any such information on UI. Is there a log somewhere?
  2. Hello, I don't know if it is the drive or the software. Was able to burn the same iso to DVD using Windows Disc Image Burner. And ImgBurn keeps failing. Do not know why that is. Is there some setting that needs to be tweaked? I did select "Default Settings" but do not know if this is a case of coincidental hit and miss.
  3. I tried to burn files to DVD and that worked using ImgBurn. So, the issue is burning images (iso etc) to DVD. So, will first try and use Lens Cleaner DVD. If that does not work then firmware flash. If firmware flash could assist in this then perhaps I'll do some more research and get exact steps or find someone who knows what they are doing to assist me. Thanks
  4. Dell did have Matshita drives in XPS laptops, just did not provide firmware for them. Hence I was looking for firmware elsewhere. So, if my firmware is Q310 then do I need to get the firmware that ImgBurn recommends (Q113)? Yes, cleaning seems to be the ONLY course of action I can take apart from replacing drive. On the same laptop, I was able to write to the same DVD using an external DVD drive. Thanks,
  5. My driver version is Q310 which seems to be a later version than what Imgburn suggests. Also, have not found a Matshita driver for this drive on any manufacturer site.
  6. I went to Tools -> Drive -> Check for Firmware Updates. Got dialog box stating my current firmware version is Q310. Going further to the url provides the following info: Version Date desc Filename Q113 16th February, 2011 EP0000228581.exe Q113 26th August, 2010 MTFOPD-00228581-1022.EXE Which of these firmware should I install? Thanks for your assistance
  7. Hello, On my Dell XPS-M1530, I can read/write CDs fine, read DVDs fine but writing DVDs gives an issue. Looked at these forums for the issue - "Power Calibration Area Error" and see the first recommendation as 'Use Verbatim or another high quality disk'. I'm using Verbatim and hence am not sure what to do next. is my infamous drive kaput? Thank you for your assistance. Log: I 17:15:34 ImgBurn Version 2.5.8.0 started!
