Well this is crazy. After failing with multiple Verbatim discs I tried an old Sony re-writable blu ray and it looks like my burner is going to work with that.

Thanks. It is actually the burner that came with the computer, which is 10 years old. I have been able to burn Verbatim discs in the past. You may well be right about it being a hardware issue, particularly given the age of the unit, but I had a similar problem several years back with Sonic DVD/Blu Ray software. It would get to the end and then nothing. That is when I got TMPGE, which has worked fine until now. Before I invest in a new drive (or computer) I might go through the recommended HP protocol of uninstalling the burner and ALL disc burning software, restarting the computer and starting from scratch. Anyway, many thanks for the advice.

I am having no end of trouble trying to burn a blu ray using Verbatim discs. I have tried 3 different discs from the pack at this point. In my TMPGE Authoring Works 6 program the process goes to the end, then won't write to the disc and gives me error code 00000f7c. I tried creating an ISO and burning that using File Explorer. It, too, goes through the motions, but in the end only tells me I have files waiting to be written, but it won't let me write them. I can burn DVDs with my optical drive and it will play back blu rays, so that much of it is functioning.
