  1. Yeah, Alcohol hasn't helped. Tons of errors. Its gotta be copy protection, I can't believe the disk 1 for half a dozen PC games has gone bad. I'll take a look at game jackal. EDIT: that doesn't seem to be for ripping disks. Its basically an auto-no-CD system, which I'm sure has it's uses, but is not terribly helpful for my long-term archival project.
  2. No, its a Sims 2 PC disk. I was saying I also ripped a ton of PS1 games using ImgBurn earlier and never had an issue. I had encountered a similar problem with CDBurn XP, but I'll give a whirl at Alcohol 120%. Thanks!
  3. Ah but I ripped a whole stack of PS1/PS2 games without issue. I suspect its some form of copy protection, after proceeding with the process it pretty consistently came up on disk 1 of every 2 disk set. Very frustrating for someone who just wants to make backups of things they own.

  5. Hi folks, I'm attempting to make backups of some old software disks, but a few of them are giving me grief. Using the windows file manager I can copy the entire contents of the disk to a folder, so I assume the disk is good. But when I fire up ImgBurn to make an ISO, I get: Retry Failed - Reason: Unknown (CRC or ECC Error) (ASC: 0x10; ASCQ: 0x90) I get the same results one 2 different optical drives. Am I running into some kind of weird copy protection or what?
