  1. Is there any general rules when you should use Dvd shrink with 120 min Verb +R and when to just use a Verb DL? I notice that Imgburn tells you when the file need to be burned on DL but I also notice you can use DVD shrink to fit it on a single layer disk. In other words, is there a certain file size that I should not risk shrinking and just burn on DL's? Thanks.
  2. I will try that as well. How do I tell Shrink to do this? I am new to all of this. Thanks.
  3. That may be the problem. I have a very old DVD player. I need to get a new one anyway, so I will try to DVD's on a new player. I will also try speeding up the burn a bit. Thanks.
  4. All of my dvd's is am burnging play fine the first time but start skipping towards the end when played the second time. I used dvd shrink and Verbatim DVD+R disks. Is there anything I can do about this? Here is the log to the last burn I did. Like I said, it plays in my DVD player fine the first time then the second time it skips at the end. ; //****************************************\\ ; ImgBurn Version 2.2.0.0 - Log ; Tuesday, 27 February 2007, 23:47:16 ; \\****************************************// ; ; I 22:34:59 ImgBurn Version 2.2.0.0 started! 5. Thanks for the info. How do I update my firmware? What is firmware? Sorry, I am new to this. Also, what is DMA?
  6. I had a few movies that ImgBurn said I needed two layers with. I used DVD shrink with to make the ISO files fit on a normal 120 min DVD. The movies were about 160 long. They burned fine but I notice towards the end of the movies they start to skip. Am I able to do this? Is the "compression" the reason for the skipping. Should I just re-burn ising the Verb DL's? P.S. I am using Verbatim DVD+R 4.7 GB
  7. Thanks! You guys all rock! I always get the help I need here!
  8. I am using a Phillips DVD +- R RW. It came pre-installed in my Dell PC I purchase in 09/05. It says DVD 8701 on properties. I looked on the philips website but could not find that product, I do not have the user manual.
  9. I am new to this. I have had great success in burning 2 hour movies with the Verbatims. I have some longer moview that use a layer break. I bought DL verbs but then noticed that it said to use only with DL hardware. Will I need to get a new burner in order to burn on the double layer DVD's?
  10. Thanks! The Verbatims worked like a charm. I have burned 10 so far and they play back beautifully!
  11. I will buy some Verbatim's today and see if that works. Thanks P.S. Any reason why the DVD will play all the way thru on my pc without skipping but not in my DVD player? -Mattie-
  12. Hi. I am new to burning dvd's. I have burned 3 dvd's with no problem but the last few I have burned start to skip 30 minutes into the movie. I can play these dvd's on my PC just fine but when I put them into my dvd player they get chopped up. I even tested them on a friends dvd player, the same thing. It starts off with little squares flashing and then more squares and then it starts to skip. Any suggestions. I don't know if you need this but here is the log from my last burn.
