You need to use DVD+R DL (dual layer) media.

The problem is that your burner doesn't like the media you're using, and all slimline burners are rubbish, so you need to use high quality media in order to get good burns, as the link we posted above says. If you feel like wasting a couple more discs then try burning one at 4x and another at 6x to see if they work, and make sure Verify is enabled!

If it doesn't have the other files from DVD-Video content (i.e. VIDEO_TS folder with IFO/BUP/VOB files) then you'll need to use something like DVD Flick, DVDStyler or ConvertXtoDVD to convert your video file before burning: those tools will make the appropriate structure that, when burned to disc, works fine on any DVD player.

Disable the verify option before burning audio discs but have it enabled when burning data discs, as to make sure that your data was correctly burned.

Your burner is too old and doesn't have support for those Verbatim 8x DVD+R DL blanks. You could try flashing it to the latest firmware version but I doubt it'll add support (look at the release date). So your options are try and get Verbatim 2.4x (MKM-001-00 dye / MID) DVD+R DL blanks or get a new burner (best option and inexpensive too), something like a Optiarc AD-7260S / AD-7280S or perhaps a Lite-On iHAS124 B (both are SATA burners so check if you have a spare SATA port beforehand). Oh, and update your ImgBurn too.

The whole of log of that burn, please. If you closed ImgBurn then you can find previous logs in ImgBurn's Help menu.

Not if you burn a lot of backups for "friends"

The logs you've posted show the same media ID (RITEK-F16-01), and since it fails to burn on most of your burners (some of them with the very same error) I think it's pretty obvious that the media you're using is junk. Try with Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden media, or even Sony discs should work. You could also apply the latest firmware on your Philips SPD2400L1 burner.

Please post the log from when you burned that disc.

Post the log of one of those burns that didn't work (look in ImgBurn's Help menu for older logs).

I think you can use DVD Flick, DVDStyler or ConvertXtoDVD to convert your FLV files into DVD-Video format, which is the format that all DVD players can play.

Then try installing this driver to see if it solves your problem. Also you could try with Test Mode enabled when burning CD and DVD-R media.

Try with Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden media. Also try burning slower at 6x or 4x to see if you get better results. If none of that works then you could try cleaning the drive with a lens cleaning disc, or even manually if you know how to do it.

Update your burner's firmware and try burning at 6x or 8x.

In that Media tab, set the Single Layer Profile to Custom and enter a big number (e.g. 10000000), then close ImgBurn and the configuration will be saved.

That's not something ImgBurn can do. Have you tried Google, WolframAlpha or even Cleverbot?

Update ImgBurn. Look for the latest drivers for your chipset / storage controllers (this website might help) and then the real error returned by the drive might show up. You could also try burning at 10x or 16x to see if you get better results.

What's the bootable image you're using? e.g. Win98SE bootdisk, DOS, etc.
