  1. I only need to ask, does Imgburn close Discs by default or can i resume a burn compilation after it is completed? I burnt a disc yesterday but i included an incorrect version of a file, that i now need to replace. Disc is plain recordable but not re-writable, this is the reason i'm asking this here.

  2. Ok this time it looks as though it only encountered one buffer issue, but other than that things went smoother. And i also had firefox+Azureus running using 200M of memory.

When there's a buffer underun what does that mean, and why is the LBA mentioned? Is it most likely that an error could encounter there after a buffer issue?

On another note, i updated imgburn and it asked to keep settings, but it said since i updated from 2.4.2.0 some settings need to be set manually. From time to time i may tweak something here and there, and now i dont remember exactly what i have had changed in order to make the changes i previously had.

  3. IS there a way to import settings from previous versions after a fresh installation so that i wont have to reapply the old settings from scratch?

Run the installer and it'll ask if you want to keep your current settings.

Do i first have to uninstall previous version before i install the newer, or will i not be asked to keep settings if i do so.

There's obviously a bigger issue here.

Any idea what that might be? I know that something is wrong, but basically i thought that this PC is not "strong" enough based on the SPECS i listed previously.

Also if i keep it on MAX will it try to get over 4x, and will that be the reason for buffer and instability issues?

  4. I 15:31:34 ImgBurn Version 2.4.2.0 started!

    Update ImgBurn.

IS there a way to import settings from previous versions after a fresh installation so that i wont have to reapply the old settings from scratch?

    As for the speed...
    I 15:49:08 Average Write Rate: 6,084 KB/s (4.4x) - Maximum Write Rate: 18,300 KB/s (13.2x)

    I 16:01:07 Average Verify Rate: 6,172 KB/s (4.5x) - Maximum Verify Rate: 9,662 KB/s (7.0x)

Notice the average write and verify speeds: looking at them it seems the fastest burn speed your network can maintain is 4x, and just barely.

Does the server have only one network card? Is it also used to access/share Internet traffic as well? Installing more memory and service pack 2 could also help.

Yes it does hve one lan adapter, and it is not really a server, it's just an old PC i use for downloading/storing files and then burning discs. I sometimes may want to burn files located on the client Computer.

The server is really low spec. P4 1.8Ghz 640 (128+512) SDRAM (not even ddr1!) so dont expect much from it. Although at the time of this burn compilation i had closed azureus and firefox which are the 2 programs that consume the more moemory and there were no other processes demanding any resources.

It does have access to the internet, but it does not provide the access. The router is connected to the switch where both computers get it from.

  5. Yep that was where they are stored thanks!

    So here's the necessary log.

  6. What speed can/do you actually achieve from your networked machine?

If you'd posted a log like you're supposed to ( :chair: ), I'd have had the info I needed to give you a better / more accurate answer.

Sorry i forgot where the default location of the log files. Can you remind it to me? :/

  7. Is there an issue when burning files that are on a network drive?

Cause every time i do this, The burning takes double the time and i get lots of waiting for buffer messages. IS this normal?

What can i don to improve this behavior?

I'm in a home network with the client and the server computer. They communicate in a 100mbit lan.

  8. One with a keyboard and the letters S-E-A-R-C-H :whistling:

Hast hat really been discussed before?

mainboard with 2 x 80 wire ide (some thought into where you plug devices so they do not share channel) and lots of SATA ports

Well of course, the matter of connectors is an obvious one. i'm not that much of a noob. :innocent:

/ quad core 6600 intel or higher with a decent PSU 650 watt min with 28 amp min on 12v line

Is this a rough estimate or is it based on experience? Is it certain that doing so, simultaneously you wont run into any problems. Especially when it concerns burning multiple (different also) image files at once.

  9. This is more of a theroetical questions since i dont have more than one dvd-drive on any of my computers, but i would like to know process and resource-wise what would it take in order to creating images and burn more than one discs at once.

Like for example having 4-5 drives and running that many imgburn instances to read and/or write 4-5 images at once. What kind of computer would that require?

  10. W 23:48:20 Note: The drive probably corrected the L-EC Area because it's wrong in the image file.

Did you see this line in the log?

Yes i did but i didnt know what this means!Am i good to go or what?

By the way, you should upgrade to the latest ImgBurn version

Shall i uninstall the old one first or install over it?I also need to retain my settings.Last time i updated i had to re-configure the settings.

  11. Here's the Log from the second attempt. I stopped it after it popped the warning that there have been some errors since reburning it didnt seem to solve it.

    I 23:38:06 ImgBurn Version 2.4.0.0 started!

    I 23:38:06 Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Enterprise Edition (5.2, Build 3790)

    I 23:38:06 Total Physical Memory: 654,352 KB - Available: 71,820 KB

I 23:38:07 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices...

    I 23:38:07 Found 1 CD-RW and 1 DVD

  12. Today i burnt a cd-image download off the internet on bin cue format but upon burning it i got lba mismatch errors on various sectors.

I closed the programm and reburnt it using my cd-rw recorder this time (The first time i used the dvd-rw) but same thing. I got lba mismatch errors at the same sectors.

What could that be? I tried playing this cd (PSX game) but it loaded succesfully on my playstation machine. Dunno though if these LBA errors will cause it to freeze later at the game or something...

  13. 2)Yes of course, will do. So topic still open till the next time this happens.

EDIT:As for 1) is there a way to display some kind of transparent toolbar that it displays the writing/verification completion percentage? So i can have it shown in the edge of my monitor and quickly check it?

  14. A)Is there a way for me to do that somehow?Like when burn completes, computer must be notified somehow. Is there a way to tyurn the notification to send a signal to the screen to turn it on?

B)Well AFAIK it happened two times and it popped when verification started. It's a plain pop up style message/dialog saying "Unable to replace image" with an ok button for confirmation.

After you press OK it goes away without bothering you or seeming to have nay other complications.

I don't happen to have a screenshot as both of these times i popped up "ok" immediately. But that is exactly what it said.

  15. 1)Well first i would like to ask if there is a setting that when burning completes,it would wake my CRT monitor from sleep.I have no screensaver,i just have the option of my monitor going to sleep after 1 minute so it doesn't bother me when I'm working on my main computer.

I haven't found an option thus far for what I'm asking but maybe someone knows netter.

2)Ok and a second thing, little weird, for the first time after thousands of burned discs with imgburn, the last week i have encountered this message for two times after the tray was reloaded for verification.

    "Unable to replace image"

I dont know what that was supposed to mean, but verification finished successfully while confirming the md5 checksums, but what was with this weird message?

  16. I thought it would b best to uninstall first.Well i didnt load any poject or called imgburn from any other app.It was the first build project which i added some files.

Anyway whats done is done,i now know the setting to undo it at least. Is there any way i can manipulate the burned to dis to display the data from the desired folder,or do i just have to live with it?
