  1. I've tested my drive in another computer (vista 32bit) but it's the same, I also tried my old drive and it worked with the sony media code...so I'll have to guess my drive is faulty. Thx for all your help
  2. I don't know if the PSU is too low for my computer...650W usually but I think something is wrong with it. I've put in 350W now and it's no change at all...I don't have a stronger PSU to test with Just to make clear 650W is my "standard" and 350W was the one I've tested
  3. Ok, I will try another PSU to check this thx
  4. more like the first official release 1.04 would be the latest one, non-cracked from nec http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2358 of course I would liggy's 104bt for bitsetting dvd+r's I have AD-7170S not AD-7170A...S-ATA/P-ATA I think.
  5. I've been having suspicions about it for a while, why do you think my PSU is the cause of the problems? I'm also critical to XP x64...
  6. Why so slow...I really wouldn't go below 8X. Burning too slow can be just as bad as burning too fast. I'd also invest in some Verbatims, while some have good luck with the Sony brand others don't. I've tested the fastest down to the slowest just to see other results...
  7. Hello, I just registered because I've been having some trouble lately. For some days ago I bought a new drive to my computer (AD-7170S) hoping it would work better than my old LG drive and also to get rid of IDE-cables in my computer. The media I'm using is Premium with the media code: SONY08D1. Problems: It says "Disc not empty" or it'll have write retries when burning lead-in which I think causing the a very long loading time for my computer and my DVD-player to load the disc(5min+) in some way. I have the newest firmware but not a cracked version. Notes: My previous drive had similar problems Here is the log for the latest attempt: I 18:04:23 ImgBurn Version 2.3.2.0 started!
