  2. Ok... Im back to having same problem again... #33;!! Only thing thats changed is a new HD with Vista 64 on it... help!
  3. Just successfully Burned 8 DVD's at full x8. Im back to being very happy, and my HD is a good deal cleaner. thanks to all those who helped.
  4. OOO YEA!!! Sorry for last post, i spoke too soon! I had forgotten to change buffer size back to 40megs. The burning on the fly business appears to have done the trick!
  5. Ok, i tried the buring right form VIDEO_TS's guide, but same error is returned.
  6. Yep, updated firmware/drivers for Burner. No, On the previous Batch of disks i had same issue, but it only started about 1/2 way through spool - this prompted me to snag a new higher quality spool (DVD-R's) Tons of programs I'm afraid. Several Games, and a couple of tools. And due to the failure of the drive to burn, My DVD folder is filling up, round 30gigs in there right now, which is causing major space issues on HD's. Here is info (hopefully what you meant) in the driver load stuff: =============================================== Filter Driver Load Order - ImgBurn v2.3.2.0 =============================================== Upper Device Filter: redbook Upper Class Filter: GEARAspiWDM Device: CD/DVD-ROM Device Lower Class Filter: AnyDVD Lower Device Filter: [None Found] Filter Name: redbook File Name: C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\redbook.sys File Version: 5.1.2600.3264 (xpsp.071130-1425) File Description: Redbook Audio Filter Driver Product Name: Microsoft® Windows® Operating System Product Version: 5.1.2600.3264 Company Name: Microsoft Corporation Copyright: © Microsoft Corporation. I'll look for the guide you mentioned, and report back dontasciime: Thanks, but im not really ready to void the warranty on this puppy yet. And by Nero Buisness i meant: I found the wnaspi32 dll, and put it both in the IB folder, and system32 folder. However when i tried to which to the Wnaspi32 option on the I/O tab; IB can no longer find any drives. I can't post log of it filing cause i can't begin. I will also try replacing the USB cable.
  7. Its an External Drive... I am Using USB 2.0 I did all the nero bizness, but its a USB drive...
  8. I've tried writing really slow speeds, but doesn't seem to help. I build the ISO with IMG burn, and then Burn. got 2gbs of ram, and almost all of it is available for the burn. thanks for info, may not be sophisticated enough to take advantage of all you suggestions. anything easy i could be missing?
  9. no, fraid its a "outside only" kinda deally. Really a very good Sony... but o well. Any way to remedy this, without getting an internal drive?
  10. I have an external DVD burner, and for a while was using AnyDVD + DVD Shrink + IMG burn very happily. Recently all my DVD's fail to burn. I hoped it was bad disks, so i bought a spool of Verbatim. None of them appear to work. Log is as follows: I 15:25:02 Operation Started! I 15:25:02 Building Image Tree... 11. Thanks guys, The disks are memorex, brand name, good quality, or so i thought I am in the process of upgrading my whole system.. and wil probably go to an internal burner. Thanks again
  12. Ok, can you help me out in buying the correct disks...? And i still don;t understand why these disks randomly don;t work any more... I have 50 of em sitting in a stack with perfect quality movies on em. Checked firmware, Write speeds and tried building my image with Img burn itself, to no avail. thanks, Bob
  13. Hello! I have been copying DVD's for a while now, originally with Nero... and now, more happily with Img Burn combined with a ISO builder, and DVD shrink. In the past i have had no problems burning DVD's, however i recently bought a SONY DRU-830A (USB external) to speed up the process and now Most all of my Movies fail to burn. I am on my second Burner, 5th different USB port, using DVD-R's and am not sure where to turn next. When using Img Burn (or Nero), the Burner seemingly randomly works, and then doesn't, when it gets a few weeks old it rarely works. Is this just a crappy burner... (bloody expensive if it is...) or am i doing something totally wrong here. The error I get from Img Burn, returns the following log entry: I 17:22:45 ImgBurn Version 2.3.2.0 started!
