It actually ended up working at 4x. But after all of that work, it turned out to be a bad dump anyways, hahaha. Thanks for all the help, guys.

You guys sound pretty sure that it's the discs. Not that I'm doubting you or anything, but before I go out and spend more money, I have to ask if there would honestly be a reason for these discs to have stopped working all of a sudden? As I said, I've written to quite a few of these Imation DVDs with ImgBurn before today and I have never once had a problem.

PS2s need modchips to read burnt discs. Otherwise, piracy would be way too easy.

what's running in the background that might be interfering? Well the firmware update is null for me, since I can't burn the update onto a disk and lack a blank thumb drive/floppy disc. Also, that locking thing isn't actually important. Even when I used to successfully burn stuff, I always got that error.
