BTL05
Installed last night, burned one CDR with no problems. When trying to burn the next one ImgBurn got stuck on writing lead-in while the drive made a bizarre ratcheting noise. Tried canceling the process but it took a few minutes to do so. A message popped up that I had an I/O error media not present, then the laptop went directly into the Windows blue screen where it locked up. I pulled the plug and let the battery run down. Today using a clean re-install of ImgBurn and a fresh disc, all was well until about halfway through the process. Below is the log. Any help for this clueless soul is appreciated. Thanks. Using XP. BTL05
Buy some Taiyo Yuden CDs and try cleaning your drive. Thanks. Will do, but not convinced that's the problem as the burner worked fine with these discs until recently. Then the free sonic software stopped working, now ImgBurn, which I have used successfully for some time on the home pc.

BTL05
I did offer two pieces of advice in my post. Thanks, and this did enable me to burn a couple of discs before encountering the same problem again. p.s. My apology for a poorly chosen title for this thread. ImgBurn has been in my somewhat limited experience by far the best program to burn discs with. I never thought the software was the source of my current problem and should've come up with a more accurate and not so rude title.
volvofl10
i only read it because of the title Had visons of your drive flying 6 feet up in the air when you started ImgBurn, i thought 'thats differant, we havent had THAT before'
