cornholio7 Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 its probably the chipset in the usb enclosure that is causing the semaphore time out, another enclosure may work better, google semaphore timeout, theres not a lot you can do about it

spinningwheel Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 I 03:56:15 Destination Media Type: DVD-R (Disc ID: CMC MAG. AM3) (Speeds: 4x, 6x, 8x, 12x, 16x) You need better media than this! Are you doing other things while trying to burn? If so, don't. Try other speeds when burning.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 That 2nd log shows the exact same semaphore timeout issue - so if you did change the enclosure, it's still not one that your chipset likes very much.

cornholio7 Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 physically? or did you just plug the enclosure into the usb port of your desktop? its the usb casing that causes the semaphore issue so removing the drive from the usb enclosure and mounting it physically in your desktop should solve the semaphore issue

LIGHTNING UK! Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 Not according to your 2nd log you didn't. It's highly unlikely you'd get a semaphore timeout issue on anything except USB.
