NO SEEK COMPLETE

jameson

Recommended Posts

At the final part of burning,IMGBURN says, Closing session failed -reason-no seek complete. I wait for a long time and after a lot of trying to cancel i get the disc out and close. The DVD burns ok and plays, but i don`t know what this 'no seek complete" is. Any ideas?

Update your burner's firmware (remove any disc and close the tray before updating then reboot after it's finished) and try again.

Thank You for your prompt reply. I have downloaded the latest version of IMGBURN. So, it appears that i would click on TN02 version to update firmware, is that correct??

Yes.

Thank You. I remember some time ago i did a burner firmware update on another computer and it caused some problems. Being quite new to this do you mind if i double check that the TN02 is quite safe to download and would be free of problems??

All the firmwares on FirmwareHQ.com were downloaded by ourselves directly from the manufacturers websites (we mirror them for easier searching and downloading), so feel free to check directly with LG's website. I know that TN02 from FirmwareHQ.com is good because I've flashed it myself to a friend's burner less than a week ago ;)

Remember to close all programs, remove any disc from the drive and close its tray before updating, then reboot the computer after the update is finished.

I upgraded the firmware TN02 successfully, but the problem is still there. Closing session failed is the main problem. It just hangs around saying closing session for a long time until i get the option to retry or continue. When i click continue it closes. My screen shot shows the yellow icons where "no seek complete" is. To me "no seek complete" could mean i haven`t done something to complete the session?? The log is included.

Cancel that, of course there was something i hadn`t done, i forgot to reboot the computer.(redface) Now it`s working ok.(log included) No " no seek complete". Before we finish, a few questions:- (1) DVD Flick has project settings-IMGBURN doesn`t require these e.g.pal/ntsc-burn to disc? (2) I put a brand new empty verbatim dvd disc in but it still had to be erased taking a long time?? (3) So IMGBURN processes any movies taken on a digital camera-no formatting??

1. Let DVDFlick do his job and set target to a HDD Folder, not to ImgBurn. Than use ImgBurn in Build mode

2. DVD+RW needs initial formatting not erasing

3. ImgBurn not processing/altering anything, it just burns what you give to him in that form

Thank You for your information. In reply-(1) DVD Flick goes to IMGBURN automatically-"set target to a HDD folder?" how is this done-what is HDD folder?? (2) IMGBURN erases any disc automatically. At times IMGBURN says the disc needs formatting.(3) Like DVD Flick no need to select PAL OR NTSC??. The process of creating a DVD is successful whether through DVD Flick or IMGBURN

1. Go to DVDFlick's Project settings > Burning and untick "Create ISO image" and "Burn project to disc". You will end up with AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders in Project Folder. Then use this Guide

2. Don't know much about DVD+RW, I don't use it. Guess that is not correctly formatted. I remember mmalves said:

You should need to format the DVD+RW discs only once, and after that you can just overwrite them. ImgBurn looks for the 'Formatted: Yes' status and this is reported by the burner: if you use that disc with other burning software (which might not care about the formatted status) then the disc may lose it's formatted status.

3. You only need to select TV format in DVDFlick according to your player read capability specifications. The newest ones support both PAL/NTSC. DVDFlick does the conversion part, ImgBurn will do the burn part.

1. Go to DVDFlick's Project settings > Burning and untick "Create ISO image" and "Burn project to disc". You will end up with AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders in Project Folder. Then use this Guide
