I downloaded the most recent firmware for my device, and I ran the program, but it said "Update Failed" and only gave me the option to "power off" which I did. Also note that our firmware updates are not compatible with those provided by OEM vendors (Sony Optiarc drives pre-installed by the PC manufacturers e.g. HP, Dell, Fujitsu Siemens Computers, Apple etc.). You may damage your drive if you flash it with incompatible firmware If it is in an OEM computer try on their site, maybe they also provide one.
