Viewing ISO file

Hello,

I am hoping that someone can help with my request.

I recently used ImgBurn to build an image file using 2 AVI files - 1 movie - and 1 srt file. I changed the setting to ISO9660 as recommended in a post I read about the issue and then tried to playback the ISO using VLC media player without success.

VLC loads up, but no picture or sound appears.

My intention is to next burn the file to DVD, but I would like to be sure that it will work as intended, ie. avi file with subtitles. The DVD-player I will use can recognise these files.

Thank you

Townes

Use ISO9660+Joliet for the file systems.

Burn to a DVD-RW or DVD+RW for testing in your player, forget VLC.

Thanks Lightning for the response.

Does that mean that ISO files are not able to be played on a PC?

Cheers

Townes.

I don't know why you'd ever play an ISO.

An ISO is a container. When I put water in a glass, I don't drink the glass, I drink the water!

Mount the ISO in a virtual drive and play properly from the virtual drive or just play the files that went into the ISO in the first place.

I don't generally drink my video files, sarcasm not necessary

I'm British, sarcasm is always necessary.

But that time, I wasn't being sarcastic. I was simply trying to make you think of the ISO as a glass - a 'container' of something else - in an attempt to get my point across.

ok, my misunderstanding, thanks for your help.

You don't have to make an ISO before burn. Just use "Build" mode and add .avi and .srt files and burn it to disc

That .avi and .srt should fit in a CD, why put it on DVD?

If you have to make a DVD Video that any stanalone DVD player will read, use DVDFlick or ConvertXtoDVD.
