Logical Unit not ready, Cause not reportable

I just installed ImgBurn for the first time. The status bar at the bottom states, "Logical Unit not ready, Cause not reportable". I realize that my issue may be vague, since it's a case of "Cause not reportable". I hoped that there might be a suggestion of something that I could try to rectify the situation.

Thank you -

Take the disc out, does that line in the status bar change to 'Device Not Ready (Medium Not Present)' or something similar?

Now put a disc in it again - personally I'd try an original/pressed/silver DVD-ROM or CD-ROM.

Keep an eye on the status bar message as you insert the disc.

It should change to 'Device Not Ready (Logical unit is in process of becoming ready)' before then changing to being 'Ready'.

Those status messages come directly from the drive.

If your drive just always reports that it's not ready, there's nothing I / we can do about it.
