After creating your slideshow with pictures, sound, etc., It automatically launches ImgBurn and creates a DVD. It works great, except the DVD only plays on computers with DVD drive installed. It will not play on 3 different DVD only boxes I've tried. Is this software only designed to play on computers?...or is there some setting I'm missing to make it work on ANY dvd player? Rincewind Posted May 22, 2011 Share Posted May 22, 2011 It will at least give us an idea if imgburn burned your disc as merely a data disc, or dvd-video disc. As of right now there isn't enough information. Also are you playing the disc in a DVD software player? Either PowerDVD or WinDVD (VLC doesn't really count, as it will play anything in any format). chivalryinsocal Posted May 22, 2011 Author Share Posted May 22, 2011 (edited) Ah..now that's a good point!..Thank You...I believe it burned it as a data disk...It did created Audio and Video TS folders...Is there an option I'm missing that will burn this so I can just play it in both a standalone Dvd player...as well as a computer? However...I noticed that an off the shelf 'DVD' movie also will show these subfolders as well...forgive me..but I'm new to burning DVD's and much more experienced with CD's. Sorry for the confusion, by DVD-Video compliant I mean a disc that has a VIDEO_TS folder with IFO,BUP,VOB files (AUDIO_TS is OPTIONAL). -+R discs these days are a none issues (except for Double Layered -R or +R discs, but thats not really important right now). Your blank disc CAN be made into DVD-Video discs, or data discs it doesn't matter. Just like a CD-R can be either a data CD or standard CD-Audio disc you play in a stereo. Question 2: Remember that I am running software that creates a slideshow and then automatically launches IMGBurn. I don't know about scripts, but if whatever 'slideshow' utility you are using spits out an ISO, you can use imgburn to burn the ISO after. That is just a 'filler' for old players (first maybe second generation) that for some reason could not play DVDs without BOTH AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS. But it still will only play on computers and not on 3 different standalone DVD players...2 of mine and my neighbors...What am I doing wrong? I also assume you still have a VIDEO_TS in the root directory of the disc. My only other guess is there is something wrong with your source files. hollywood Posted May 22, 2011 Share Posted May 22, 2011 in the usa and some countries the dvd format is NTSC, in other countries they use PAL. look at the settings in the slide show program and make sure the setting for PAL or NTSC is correct for your region (and DVD player).
