Syncronising Cache takes 45 minutes to 1 hour

Im hoping someone can tell me what's going on with IMGBurn 2.5.5.0

Everything works great until it gets to Synchronising Cache, then it takes a long time to move past it. The drive makes sounds, like its doing something, but, alas. after a long period of time, it finally moves on. Is there a setting I need to correct? I uninstalled, then restarted the system, and reinstalled IMGBurn. I have included the log, to help. Thanks to anyone who can help me resolve this. :)

Well, that seemed to shorten it a bit, but still took a long time. Could this really be related to burn speed?

I'm kinda new to this problem, never had it happen before, till recently. been using IMGBurn for several years!

Can you please try with some decent 'Taiyo Yuden' discs?

If your drive still takes ages to burn those, it's at fault - probably needs cleaning or replacing.

If it doesn't then it probably just doesn't like the cheapo Ritek CD-R's you're using.

We can't really comment about the best burn speed to use because, for whatever reason, your drive isn't reporting the supported write speeds for those discs.

Memorex CD-Rs are not any good? maybe a bad batch? The first few of them were ok. Where can I buy these 'Taiyo Yuden' discs?

By the way, Thank You for the quick responses! :)

I wouldn't buy anything other than Taiyo Yuden. It's just not worth it.

I'm sure if you Google for Taiyo Yuden CDs you'll find somewhere online in your country that sells them. I'm in the UK so that doesn't really help you very much.

Just try some different media. Your problem is likely a mismatch between your burner and the media, although it is possible I suppose that the cake is all bad.

I have had "synchronizing cache" problems myself, but whenever it's happened to me, it's been clearly the fault of a couple of discs in a cake. Indeed, I posted about this problem not too long ago, which I had with the first two or three discs in a cake, and since then the rest of the cake has burned just fine.

Ritek does not suck like it used to, but clearly your burner doesn't like them.

Well, I guess that solves it. Got some Taiyo yuden discs, and tried to burn a disc. And, it still gets stuck on Synchronizing Cache. And doesn't want to acknowledge the abort request. Does this mean the drive is damaged? I am leaving the log.

Note: The disc burned just fine, data and all. The drive just wont respond while Synchronizing Cache? I shutdown IMGburn, then put the system to sleep, then after the system "woke", I was able to get the drive to respond, and it reads the data just fine. If anyone has an ideas... Happy to entertain them, I just hope the drive is ok.

I 16:17:09 Destination Media Type: CD-R (Disc ID: 97m24s01f, Taiyo Yuden Co.)

That burner has no support for that media code. It's using a generic write approach, that seems not to work very good.
