Burning only 43% of my slideshow

E Hobbs

Recommended Posts

I am a newbie to ImgBurn, but am already VERY IMPRESSED with the software. I have created a nice slideshow with approx. 280 slides and 3 audio files. When I try to burn it via ImgBurn, it burns approx. 43% of it and the disk shows full. I have discussed the size w/a number of members of the forum for the slideshow creation software and they all agree that it is not too large for a disk. Can you help???

Thanks

E Hobbs

PS - the 43% shows via DVD on my TV beautifully!!!!!

Hobbs;

I loaned my famous crystal ball to a band of gypsies and therefore have no idea what you are trying to burn to or how you set up the files for ImgBurn.

What type of Media???

Please post a log from ImgBurn and maybe we can see what you did to create your problem.

Edit: Great minds kev... ;)

E Hobbs, possible you could post a log of the burn? That would really help us see whats going on....... :)

This is a 29 minute show when I view it through the regular software (ProShow Gold). Does this help you figure out what is going on?

Thanks.

Here's a good start to the problem. Firmware is years behind and the media is junk. Give yourself a fighting chance. :)

Ok so it's just an ISO.

Like I said earlier, if there's stuff missing, it's missing in the ISO file - and that's nothing to do with ImgBurn.

I'm not trying to blame ImgBurn or anyone else, I'm just trying to find out what's happening. I'm impressed w/your software AND support and will be kicking in a donation sometime next week. This a ProShow Gold file that I worked on for several days and now I can't burn it. Since it's my VERY FIRST attempt to create a slideshow using ProShow Gold and also my VERY FIRST attempt to burn a DVD, I'm struggling. This is also on the ImgBurn page:

Disc Information:

Status: Complete

Erasable: No

Sessions: 1

Sectors: 192,298

Size: 393,826,304 bytes

Time: 42:45:73 (MM:SS:FF)

Supported Write Speeds: 1x, 2x, 4x

Pre-recorded Information:

Manufacturer ID: CMC MAG. AM3

Physical Format Information (Last Recorded):

Book Type: DVD-R

Part Version: 5

Disc Size: 120mm

Maximum Read Rate: 10.08Mbps

Number of Layers: 1

Track Path: Parallel Track Path (PTP)

Linear Density: 0.267 um/bit

Track Density: 0.74 um/track

First Physical Sector of Data Area: 196,608

Last Physical Sector of Data Area: 388,905

Last Physical Sector in Layer 0: 0

and this shows, too:

Sector 192,298

Size 393,826,304

Time 42:45:73

However, all that records is 10:21 minutes. Not knowing anything about DVDs, I have hit the ProShow Gold forum and been told that a lot of others have burned larger files than I have, but I thought I'd ask here, too. Any help will be appreciated.

Have you tried to remake your slideshow? If all the pix and whatever are there in the files IB will make what you need.

Manufacturer ID: CMC MAG. AM3

Get some better media, either Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim DataLifePlus. CMC is garbage.

Thanks to everyone. I HOPE I can avoid remaking the slideshow - it took HOURS! But, at least I have everything on file.

Re the media - thanks for the suggestion. I'll see what I can find in small town America!!!!!...or online!!!

Again, thanks for all the help.

Back to the drawing board.

While you're at it you might want to check your DMA settings, you'll find a fix for this in the FAQ section.

For media you could try,

www.meritline.com, they sell Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden I believe and if possible get either of those.

As ken said above you seem to have DMA issues as well as ImgBurn is set to Max burn speed so it should at least get to 4x speed when burning your project yet it's stuck at 1x speed. This post should help....
