random Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Looking around in imgburn, I found a link that brought me to a firmware update for disabeling the regional code on my burner itself (lite-on) Is this ever advantageous to do and when if it is? I assume since most programs remove multiple settings the the regional code on the burner is obsolete...? TIA
Grain Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 It would only help you out if you want to watch dvd's you've bot from another region, the UK, Japan etc. If you have none, no benefit.
Groundrush Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Like grain said, only if you have DVD's from other regions. I also use a LiteON and as my G/F lives in the USA(regoin 1) she often sends me movies before they are released here. As my standalone is regeion 2 the only way to watch them is on my pc. So for me personally It is a benifit.
