somae
I recently created a backup file which I split using gsplit and then burned to 2 cds using imgburn. It verified ok but when trying to copy it from the disk on a different computer I'm getting the message "cannot copy disk: the request could not be performed because of an i/o device error". I've attached the log from the burning seesion. Help appreciated. (Edit: unable to edit subject.) LIGHTNING UK!
If it verifies ok, it means THAT computer can read it. Your other computer may have drive that isn't as good at reading. Invest in some Taiyo Yuden CDs, you may have more luck.
somae
As it turned out, the problem was that one of the connector pins on the drive was extremely bent and wasn't making contact with the connector at all. When I bent it back into the correct position, the drive functioned ok.
