cleak Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 My Game computer has two dvd writers, a plextor 12x and a philips 16x WinXPPro Problem is neither ImgBurn, or Nero will let me burn any discs over 8x, even ones which are rated up to 16x. Could this be a StarForce issue?? Yes, StarForce is on my puter uuuuug! Should I use their uninstall tool? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. could be the media youre using, you can also update your firmware for the drives and see if that helps . somehow I smell CMC MAG here, real shit media
LIGHTNING UK! Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 In what way will it not let you? If the supported speeds show up as 16x for a given media, it should burn at 16x. I very much doubt anything would mess with that, there's just no point! Maybe a burn log would be helpful here!
