Cannot read medium - incompatible format

I've tried burning 2 different Bluray ISO images using the Verify option. Both times Verify stops at 97-99% with this error message: "cannot read medium incompatible format". The discs are BD-R Pidata AAA-CMC (HTL with Dark Inorganic Dye) 25GB 4x. I'm only burning at 4x. I've burned to many of those discs before to the same drive without issues and from the same image on a hard drive so why do I get that error message saying incompatible format? Log is below. I click on Try Again but I soon get that error again. I cancel the Verify window then close and re-open the program then do another Verify and it gives the error again. But if I close and re-open the program and try burning onto a new blank disc then verification works! Why?

Does it matter what read speed the Verification is done at with regards to the speed causing failed verifications as I just leave it on max read speed?

Depends on your definition of a few.  I always try 3 times in a row before I declare a hardware failure.  If you burned 3 to 5 discs that failed in a row, then it's most likely the hardware, particularly if you had no problems with these BD-R before.  However, there is something to note:

CMC Magnetics makes the worst optical discs out there.  So, it's not uncommon to have a package of discs where a lot of them burn fine in a row and then you get some errors in a row.
