Lock files until they are copied

The option to lock files until they are copied would be very useful. I made a bonehead mistake and deleted a file that IMGBurn was in the process of burning (along with many other files) and a little while later IMGBurn reported that the file didn't exist. Totally my fault, but having that option would have saved the day. [note: the file I deleted was very large so Windows doesn't stick it in the recycle bin but permanently deletes it]

p.s. I see that the latest version of IMGBurn is about 10 years old, so the chances of this feature being added are probably slim, but one can always hope!

Are you talking about image files or files being written to an image file?  If you're talking the former, that's already a feature in ImgBurn.  ImgBurn will lock in image files it's currently burning to disc.  The only exceptions are the .MDS, etc. metadata files.  And, I think if you have file splitting on an image set, ImgBurn only locks the portion it's currently burning from, but I could be wrong about that.

No I mean when I'm burning a group of files such as a bunch of mp4s. Basically once they're safely burned onto the back up media (M-Disc blu-rays) I delete them from my hard drive, but I jumped the gun last time and I deleted some before IMGBurn had got to them, though they were listed in IMGBurn's jobs manifest. My fault, no doubt, but the ability to lock all files until they are successfully burned and verified would have saved the day for me. Lesson learned, but this feature could save other bone head idiots like me, and it seems like a pretty simple feature to add (if IMGBurn's author still does updates anymore).
