Bubba Posted December 8, 2006 Share Posted December 8, 2006 (edited) I recently tried to make a DL DVD and followed some on-line guides for using IMGBurn in Build mode to a Verbatim DVD+R DL (which seems to be the preferred media in all forums). during the burn, I got a few break sugestions and picked the best recomendation and the burn finished sucessfully. during playback all went well until the small pause at the layre break (at leaset I assume it was the layer break) Then the movie started skipping by what looked like each chapter mark. LIGHTNING UK! Posted December 8, 2006 Share Posted December 8, 2006 Please post the log of your burn. You should be able to access the log via 'Help' -> 'ImgBurn Logs'. It plays fine in the computer but in my stand alone it starts skipping chapters at the layer break. I am using Verbatim +R DL. Also there was only 1 option for layer break, this confused me from the guide, I restarted to see if something was wrong but it was the same. Here is the log, go easy I am definitely new to this. LIGHTNING UK! Posted December 8, 2006 Share Posted December 8, 2006 You should start verifying your discs as part of the 'write' process. To do that, just ensure the 'Verify' option is ticked where you select the 'Destination' drive. That'll at least prove your PC can read the disc back ok. Nothing looks out of place though so perhaps your player just doesn't like the media very much. Trouble is, you don't get any better than Verbatim! Maybe the 2.4x rated discs would work better for you - rather than the 8x ones you have now. They use the MKM-002-00 dye rather than MKM-003-00 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
blutach Posted December 10, 2006 Share Posted December 10, 2006 I'm still on the MKM-001s which are superb at 2.4x. One thing I did note was perhaps you are burning too slow! Your burner is saying it'll burn these at 4, 6 and 8x. You selected 2.4x. Not normally an issue, but you never know. Try again at 4x. Posted February 10, 2007 Share Posted February 10, 2007 If you look around the forum, you'll see we laugh in the face of Ritek / CMC DL media and recommend people to use Verbatim DL media (and ONLY Verbatim!!!!).
