Seminole, you must have something else running in the background thats competeing with imgburn for exclusive access rights to the burner. In CD is bad for this just to name one. Thats what those messages mean. Make sure you have nothing else running in background when you use imgburn to burn. :)

  • 2 months later...

i have the same problem with image burn and vista ...

i have to close my sidebar.exe or use other IO Device like "Patin Couffin" Drivers to get IMGburn run without the "Lock Error" ...

But i think that is very strange ... ;-)

What gadgets have you added to the sidebar?

I don't recall my vista install moaning about locking things with the default sidebar.

Changing away from SPTI isn't a magic fix, it just means the command isn't issued and hence can't fail!

yes offcourse ...

now i deletet all gadgests from my sidebar

before inserting an empty disc, the sidebar.exe doesn't point to my Pioneer DVR 112 Burner...

after inserting an empty disc it does:

look here

and here's the IMGburn error:

IMGburn Lock error

^^ that's pretty uncool :-(

P.s. Windows Vista does it again ;-) hrhr

Blimey, 1.09 firmware.... ever considered updating it?! They're up to 1.21 now!

If the locking issue cannot be fixed and that silly sidebar won't stop using the drive for no reason, you'll have to disable the 'lock volume' option in the 'Write' tab of ImgBurn's settings.

updating to the newest FW does it for me ...

i searched for a new FW after upgrading my System to Windows Vista and now i am wondering about the official german Pioneer Homepage

look here

^^ there's no one new Firmware listed ...

Shame about them ;-)

P.s. Thank you for helping me with my favorite burning Software ...

You are my hero these days !!!!
