stevezemlicka Posted October 10, 2007 Share Posted October 10, 2007 Just installed imgburn on a client's computer. Most disks read fine but a few don't. AFAIK, they passed the verify and the client burned them exactly the same as the others (same media, same options, etc). A few of the disks cannot be read though. They say insert disk when trying to open the CD or DVD. Is there anything that would cause this to sparatically happen? Don't recall the exact burner but it is from a new dell vostro. stevezemlicka Posted October 10, 2007 Author Share Posted October 10, 2007 I didn't give a computer model because Dell uses so many different brands but the drive is an hl-dt-st gsa-h73n and the DVDs are memorex. What's funny is a couple of them didn't work initially but when I logged in remotely, we could read them fine. I still would like to get the writing speed down to 1x or 2x if that's possible. not sure where to find the log at, nothing in the program folder. is that something that has to be enabled or just copied from the log window. They're all geared towards faster burning - hence 8x may actually work better than 4x. If you look in ImgBurn's 'Help' menu you'll see the 'Logs' option and find where they're stored - can't use 'Program Files' because it's locked down and read-only for 'normal' users. I selected 2.4x for the burn speed and the actual burn speed is 4x (which I think is limited by the media). The reason I want to slow it down is because she is using photoshop while burning and the disk throughput gets maxed out while burning and slows the response to photoshop.
