I tried several different -R DVD's (different batches) with this HP DVD Writer (on which I've burned quite a few great DVD's over the last few years, but this one just won't burn. It plays in DVD Shrink and on other players just fine! Could you explain what Failed to Reserve Track! - Cannot Format Medium - Unsupported Medium Write Speed means? Thank you! After downloading and running thru the firmware upgrade/reboot process, ImgBurn wrote the DVD's flawlessly and, in fact, I believe, did them much faster than they ever used to on my HP drive (averaged 6x with peaks at 8.3x)! Same drive is what I have (HP DVD Movie Writer DC4000 / HP DVD Writer 420n. It burns like a breeze on Memorex DVD media. I am running out of them, so I bought a RITEKM16. I saw on some forums that RITEK media is a good one, and found a deal on some online shop.. bought a 100 pack and tried three already, nothing working. Disappointing! I just bought a 100 pack. I guess it is time to upgrade my laptop's DVD drive to a DVD-DL burner. Though it is out of scope of this thread, I would appreciate if someone can suggest a better brand/model.
