Look in: Help>log to find your logfile.

I/O errors are caused by your firmware/media/drive not playing nice together. Post the log or generate another one and post it and we can get a better idea of the nature of the problem.

Thanks for the reply.. Im now at work and will try to do this this evening. Does the log file still excist after closing imgburn? Or do I have to mess up a DVD DL again?

Thanks again for the reply!

I 22:11:56 Destination Media Type: DVD+R DL (Disc ID: RITEK-S04-66) (Speeds: 2,4x; 4x; 6x; 8x)

2.4x might not be the best speed for that media in that drive with that firmware.

You're potentially going to have to waste a few more discs trying the other 'supported' write speeds.

If none work, read this:

I 22:54:06 Source Media Type: DVD+R DL (Book Type: DVD-ROM) (Disc ID: RITEK-S04-66) (Speeds: 2,4x; 4x; 6x; 8x)

I'd seriously look at replacing your media with something better. Ritek aren't as good as they used to be.

Ritek? Iam using Platinum DL .. I thought this would be one of the better DVD DL... Any ways I tried to burn another game and it gave me the same error message.. see log:

The brand name on the discs doesn't mean anything, it's the dye that's important and yours is RITEK.

I 20:57:28 Destination Media Type: DVD+R DL (Disc ID: RITEK-S04-66) (Speeds: 2,4x; 4x; 6x; 8x)

Don't forget to try 4x and 8x too.

Just because 6x worked once doesn't mean it's the best.

Odd. I have burned RITEK-S04-66 with my Pioneer DVR-115D and no issue except that the quality was a bit low. I also have the SATA version of your writer so I'll try to burn a disc with it also. Your Pioneer should also work well with Verbatim 8x rated DL discs, if you can't find the ones mmalves suggested. Get the Verbatims labeled 'Made in Singapore'.

well the stange thing is that it worked once with speed 6x and after that no luck... I am going to try another game.. maybe this was the problem! (unfortunatly I have only 1 ritek left.. after that i have to buy some new ones... I will try verbatim.. hopefully they will give me more luck..

As I have the same burner except it's the SATA model, I burned some Sumvision discs (8x rated) with the same media code as you have.

It's clear that selecting the right write speed is important. The 2.4x speed gives a very good result for this low priced disc, 35% cheaper than the Verbatims I use.

I didn't get any write or verify errors during the burn with ImgBurn.

As I comparison, here is a Verbatim 8x, burned at 2.4x write speed.

It's not strange. It's just the media. Ritek, Princo, CMC Magnetics etc.. are garbage. Some disks burn fine but fail later on. Some burn but won't verify. Some won't burn at all. There's no substitute for good media. Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden have been consistently good for years. After telling you how great this media is, don't get the Verbatim DVD-R/DL. They're a bit dodgy. Vebatim DVD-R, DVD+R and DVD+R/DL are fine though. Taiyo Yuden (any sort) I've never found a problem with.
