Josh299 Posted March 12, 2009 Share Posted March 12, 2009 well i built a new computer and i loaded imgburn on it and now i am trying to make backup copies of my nintendo wii games. I have a copy saved to my external hd and i have burnt them from a different computer before. Well i have a internal burner which is a hp1040i and a external memorex burner which is m#3202 3223 both burners worked just fine on the old computer. The hp drive i can get to burn but its really slow it will start to burn than it waits for the buffer. here is the burn log. this isn't a complete log sense i just started burning it I 16:38:11 ImgBurn Version 2.4.2.0 started! Josh299 Posted March 13, 2009 Author Share Posted March 13, 2009 well i followed the dma post and made sure that dma was enabled i also deleted the controller they talked about and made sure that dma was enabled on the boot screen when i start windows. it was set for auto so i tried something different and i am still getting really slow burn speeds. LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 13, 2009 Share Posted March 13, 2009 Turning it off will just stop the messages in the log, it won't stop the buffer emptying! If the CPU usage is that low it would suggest that DMA is ok but your drive is just REALLY slow at reading or something. How is your F:\ drive connected? PATA / SATA / USB? Can you burn a disc in Discovery mode at full speed? (use test mode so as to not waste a disc) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Josh299 Posted March 13, 2009 Author Share Posted March 13, 2009 (edited) yes i beleive so. the memorex is the usb drive and the hp is the internal drive both worked just fine on the old computer. On the old computer i had it worked just fine and would burn them pretty quick. It took about 30 to 45 minutes and now on this computer it takes about 2 hours once it completes the burn it will start to verify it and it verifies it at 8x until about 20% complete than it goes down to .7x and will finish it at that and it takes another hour to complete it. LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 13, 2009 Share Posted March 13, 2009 Sorry, is your F:\ drive USB too? Your response isn't very clear. ImgBurn seems unable to read that image file (F:\NHL2K9.ISO) at any sort of decent speed so it would make sense if it is indeed a USB 1.0 device. Put the image on your C: drive and try again. I can't really comment on the memorex drive without seeing some sort of log. Maybe it's just too old and doesn't comply with the MMC specs properly.
