2.5.0.0 is really buggy for me..

check out my findings with a 10x CD-RW that maxes out at 4x ie takes 20 mins instead of 8 mins http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtop...t=0#entry100529 I'm waiting till 2.5.1.0 I'm trying to remember not to get the .0 version, wait for .1 eg. windows 3.0 or XP

    10x CD burns at 4x

have deleted settings, uninstalled / reinstalled ImgBurn 4x can't wait till 2.5.1.0 didn't have this trouble with previous versions will try 10x as you suggest. I am a canary, tend to be one of the first to pick up errors in s'ware. It is a challenge. at least I'burn doesn't hog the CPU like burnaware 2.3.8 they said that they will fix this 100% CPU usage in 3.0.x just tried 10x speed same. I shall leave this for now & go back to 2.4.4.0 thx 4 your help looks like I'm not the only one with slow MAX speeds http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtop...mp;#entry100527 at least this has got me to review my setup instructions. it is good to test one's insurance policy from time to time to make sure that they will pay up when the time comes.

    10x CD burns at 4x

thx Cynthia for your reply > I have the same discs (media code) as you have and these can be burned at 10x with ver 2.5.0.0. I guess it's Verbatims you also have? They are TDK CD-RW80HS High Speed 700MB on the label it says 4 - 12x MultiSpeed Compatible but I've never seen it burn at 12x. has always been 4x or 10x. > You are burning on the fly. If you create an image first when you are in build mode (set output device to Image File) and then burn the created image file in the write mode - do you get any faster speeds then? just tried creating image file & burning, still 4x I think I shall try deleting my settings in: C:\Users\e\AppData\Roaming\ImgBurn\

    10x CD burns at 4x

thx for checking out burner firmware for me also CD quality I'm waiting for the CDs to die, won't be buying more of them since DVDs burn at a faster rate & have more capacity. BTW DVDs burn OK. > Why did you abort 87 seconds into the burn? taking too long have a real thing about time. can sense when things are not taking the same amount of time as before.

BTW there is a difference in the Disc info in the when using Build vs Write Performance (Write Speeds): vs Performance (Write Speed): note the extra "s" in the Build mode, <Device> tab, Disc info.

    10x CD burns at 4x

I did wait till drive gets up to speed, as you can see the time is about the same 1min I was wondering why the CDs were taking longer than the usual 10 mins = 8min burn + 2min verify BTW I've kept 2.4.4.0 settings. shall try NOT keeping them if all else fails. here is another screen shot to show that the amount burnt doesn't matter now have to work out how to get to the log file & disk info
