will not burn at 2x

set to burn dvd at 2x, will only burn at 6x.

These are the speeds your combination of firmware/burner/media supports.

6x is the lowest speed possible.

Doubt you will find any burner today that burns slower than 4x.

 

Slow speed is not the same as best written disc. Modern burners tend to have a nice write quality at higher speeds than the ones from the Fred Flintstones days.
