okay no that didnt help. first 2 burns were succesful on verbatim media and now i wasted 4 discs trying to do it again. it simply give me exactly the same message as before identical i checked the log..so i guess im sol here..what else could bt the issue?? any other ideas luk can you tell me what is different about the way elby or vso burns the video dvd's than imgburn. most people tell me the burning program doesnt matter but i guess it really does. i just again burned the failed burn from imgburn with vso copy to dvd program and it burned straight through and plays perfectly. also i backed up 3 dvd's today on this same media with clonedvd2 and again they are fine???

ill get his log but it says the same mine did in the regular box ill get the detailed one and see

any way to fix it? someone i know locally is having the same issue on his dell xps1730 with benq burner. he emailed me about it today im going to tell him to try the same thing and reort back to you. maybe something for you to look into??

well i will keep trying but so far this was the first 2 discs burned fine and play fine??? so what is the difference between this and having that checked instead?? but i will continue to try to see if it fails on me again (hoping it wasnt those files i was trying to burn so i know for sure this is working right now). what exactly does that feature you told me to uncheck do??

well i dont get this at all now cd-da extractor which is my next choice over imgburn usually will not burn playable discs now either? they play fine in the laptop as do the failed imgburn ones but they just will not play in a dvd player set top box.. luk it seems i can burn 100% of the time using clonedvd2 or vso or ashampoo without error and they play fine. is there some way to make imgburn maybe overlook the error on this notebook as it seems the discs will play perfectly and can be burned with this burner without issue? i have just went back and re-burned all the failed burns i had with imgburn with vso convertxtodvd or ashampoo studio 8 and they all play fine and scan pretty well not perfect but acceptable for what i want them for. i would assume the other programs are somehow overlooking the error or somehow forcing the discs to be burnt i have yet to have a single coaster from vso or elby i really like imgburn and it really is my fav burner i hate to give it up.. thanks

yes i tried that as well as i said a few posts up.. nero now also burnerd this same disc. so far nero, ashampoo, cd-da, vso, deepburner..... i decicded to keep trying since i know for sure this burn fails for me with imgburn

no go on the samsung without the book type still fails on finalising.. arghh freaking 60$ for this crap drive

running another burn now without the booktype setting. i slipped in a optiarc i had from another notebook and it burns perfect without issue but it cant change book type.. so im trying the samsung again that way..

no i didnt use the book type in vso as i didnt see the option for it and cd da extractor doesnt have that option either as far as i know..you think if i burn as regular dvd instead of changing the book type it would work ok?? i hate to keep wasting these discs they were cheap yes but im out nearly 30-40 discs now due to this ill scan the disc here in a bit for you

as i already stated ive tried 5-6 brands of media, ty and verbatim included, andc yes ive tried burning at 4x and 6x and 8x with no change in results at all.. and it says i can not do a test run with the dvd+r media just odd that all other programs burn these same discs fine for me i just even used cd-da extractor and burned that very file i listed the log for and it burned fine..
