  1. thanks for your help. i'll definitely get some TY's or verbatims. It just seems so weird to me that I've never had a problem with this media before and all of sudden none of these particular dvd's will work. Anyways, thanks again.
  2. so after updating the firmware and fiddling around with ImgBurn, I finally got the burn cycle to get past its initial stage (Writing Leadin) which it previously could not get past, and into the actual writing stage. I have encountered another problem however. It only writes for a few seconds at an extremely low rate (0.6x) and then encounters an error: Spindle Servo Failure. It sounds bad. Does this mean it is a hardware problem? Also ImgBurn, when it loads now, keeps getting stuck on a process "Getting Disc Control Blocks Information" or something to that effect. Any idea why that may be? The errors keep cycling back and forth between Failed to Reserve Track/Invalid Field in CDB and the one previously stated (the write rate varies from a low 0.6x to the specified 2.4x). Also, I'm still able to burn CD's so is it necessarily the hardware thats the problem? Thanks for your help.

  4. Yeah, ive never had a problem with the brand i've been using (Memorex). I actually just burned a dvd within the last 24 hours. Its only been the last couple of hours that I havent been able to get past the "Writing Lead-in" stage. Normally ImgBurn fills the buffer, then gives some random writing rate, then settles down to my specified write speed (2.4x). Today, is automatically starts on 0x and never changes.
  5. Do go get some Verbatims or Taiyo Yudens. Regards Thanks for the advice. Would you suggest one over the other, or do they both perform equally well?
  6. Yeah its about 5 years old. If it is the hardware, is there any reason why it would all of a sudden not work? Just asking for some sense of closure. Thanks everyone, for all of your help.
  7. So I've updated the firmware to 1.19 and I receive the same message. Is it a dvd problem, or hopefully not, a hardware problem? Does anyone know whats going on because I am thoroughly confused. 8. Hi Cynthia and thanks for the warm welcome. Before looking for the firmware update (i do have an HP comupter), I tried undoing the setting for the reserved track. After undoing this, I tried to burn another ISO but ImgBurn will not get past the Writing LeadIn stage. The write rate stays at 0x and does not proceed to the write image stage. An error appears that says: I/O Error! SciStatus: 0X02 Interpretation: Check Condition CDB: 2A 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 20 00 Interpretation: Write (10)- Sectors: 0-31 Sense Area: 70 00 03 00 00 00 00 0E 00 00 00 00 0C 80 00 00 Interpretation: Unknown (Write Error) (0x0C, 0x80) I dont really know what this all means. Maybe it will help you understand if its a firmware problem or dvd material problem. Thanks again for all of your help. I really appreciate it.
  9. So I've been using ImgBurn for a quite a while and have yet to experience a problem. Recently, however, none of my ISO images will burn to dvd. Everytime I put a blank dvd in (Memorex DVD+R.... I know you guys dont like that, but it hasnt given me any trouble up until now) I get an error message saying: "Failed To Reserve Track; Reason: Invalid Field in CDB" The log is posted below. I just recently upgraded to the new version of ImgBurn thinking that this would solve it, but it hasnt. I would really appreciate any help in solving this. Thanks alot for any help.
