Sorry guys, I guess Dell pulled a fast one on me. They were supposed to send me a CD burner and a DVD burner into my new computer. I guess they decided to send me a CD reader and a DVD burner. The first drive is LG GDR8163B. That solves my problem, since this is not a CD burner ... And I was presuming your application is faulty. Anyway, I donated some money, just to thank you for your time. Now, it's time to call Dell and complain ...

I have 2 drives installed on my PC through IDE cables. First is a CD burner with DVD read capabilities. Second is a DVD burner. ImgBurn does see only the DVD burner. Sometimes, I want to burn a regular CD with the software... how do I enable in ImgBurn the first burner? Thanks.

Problem solved. It's amazing how a good piece of firmware can fix everything. The cross flash was successful, to BenQ DVD DD DW1640. I also installed the latest firmware, BSOB. I must say that it makes a huge difference, in burn quality, not to mention the QTools... After 2 burn comparaisons, it looks that imgBurn did a better job then Nero. The first picture is imgBurn, quality rating at 97.67% and the second one is Nero, 97.65%. I'm soooo happy now, I can uninstall the Nero software, that I never liked. I totally recommend to all Philips DVD8701 owners to switch to BenQ model ASAP.

I'm going to cross flash the burner to BenQ tonight and do one more test on multiple burns. Please let me know what tests exacly you want me to perform. Links to software, also (not familiar with PIPO etc.) Thanks for the heklp guys, we will nail it for sure, if there is a bug...

I was wondering if anyone can confirm this and maybe recommend a firmware upgrade? I burned 6 DVD's with the same ISO file, 3 with Nero and 3 with imgBurn. The Nero ones played perfectly on my LG 7832 Faroudja player. All 3 imgBurn DVD's skip and freeze every 30s-2min. Measures taken, before the burn: - Clean install of Windows XP MCE + imgBurn + Nero burner software only (not the hole package) - Uninstalled/installed the IDE/ATA Controller, in Device Manager (set to Ultra DMA Mode 2) What do I need to do in order to fix the problem? I do not want to change the DVD brand, I used TY for a long time and they burned perfectly always.
