  4. Ok everyone, I found the problem. Allow me to explain... I have been using AnyDVD in conjuction with ImgBurn to backup DVDs. I would run AnyDVD in the background while using ImgBurn to rip an image of the DVD. This combination worked fine for some DVDs, but not for all of them. It was yesterday when I seen the warning message that ImgBurn gave me when I was running AnyDVD in the background. I don't remember the warning message word for word, but I do remember that it basically told me that AnyDVD might ruin the verification process of ImgBurn. I now use AnyDVD by itself to rip the DVDs and everything seems to go smoothly now. Cheers!
  5. Doesn't look like an image file done by ImgBurn. Perhaps easier to get the meatballs from IKEA. I didn't move my burner to my friends laptop, I just used the burner that his laptop already had just to see what results I would have, and they were the same results. The image file that I am trying to burn was actually done my ImgBurn. I own the Sleepers DVD and I wanted to make a back-up copy of it, so I decrypted it in the background using AnyDVD and used ImgBurn to make an image file of the DVD. Thus, the image file is native to ImgBurn. Hahahaha.....so funny that you mention IKEA. Practically all my furniter in my house is from IKEA! I love that store! So.........when are my swedish meatballs going to arrive?
  6. I wasted too much money on different media. Right now I have three spindles of media on my desk: Philips, Ritek and Verbatim and all of them equal fail, fail, fail I'm convinced now that it's not the media at all. My friend just brought his laptop over and I used that to burn the ISO file. I then noticed that the miscompare is at the same exact spot everytime with all media! The same identical sector always fails, so I'm thinking it's the "ISO" file itself, but this confuses me though because I made the ISO file using ImgBurn and not another program, so the ISO file SHOULD be compatible with ImgBurn. I could use some homemade Swedish meatballs right now to calm me down. YUM! YUM! Would you mind sending some!?
  7. I purchased and used a lens cleaner, but no success. I think I'm going to shoot my foot now.
  8. You do have a good point. My drive is fairly new so the lens shouldn't be dirty. Hhhhmmmm.....it looks like I'm going to experiment with some new media then. Thanks a lot for the help! I will be sure to post back here when I finally find a solution to this
  9. I have been using this media for months now and I have never experienced anything like this before. I checked for firmware updates for my drive and it still has the latest firmware. I then did some snooping around on the internet and found that the lens on my burner could be dirty. Do you think using a lens cleaner might help? I believe Memorex makes discs that have little brushes on them. If you think trying this is a good idea or a bad idea then please let me know. Thank you.
  10. I just recently made a back-up of one of my DVDs, but realized something strange. For starters, I had ImgBurn burn the ISO file to a blank DVD and verify the disc after the burning was complete, but the verification was not successful because of a miscompare. 11. My burner supports the max speed and I have burned plenty of the same media at max speed, for some reason now though I'm getting a bunch of miscompares like dooms-day is coming! Would there be any difference if I set my burner to "16x" instead of "Max"? I built my own computer so 16x is no problem for my PC.

  13. I have been using ImgBurn for a while now and have never experienced so many "Miscompare" errors during a verification then now. I have never changed my media type. I have always used RiData and Philips media. The first three cake boxes of RiData and Philips DVDs went smooth. Now I'm on my fourth cake box for each brand and every disc is getting a "Miscompare" error during the verification process. I went through 5 discs of each brand with no success. Normally I only hit 1 "Miscompare" out of 10 discs or so. I upgraded the firmware of my burner to the latest version, but that didn't change the outcome. I'm using the same exact settings as I did for the three first cake boxes so I have no idea what is wrong. Maybe I just encountered a bad batch of DVD media? I am also using the latest version of ImgBurn 2.5.0.0. Thanks for the help.
