I hadn't noticed until now that I hadn't installed ImgBurn since I installed Windows 7... so I gave it a try and I'm having the infamous Power Calibration Area Error.
Log:
Relevant information: - The discs used (they're branded as Memorex) worked perfectly when I had WinXP installed in this very same computer. So it isn't that my drive "doesn't like" them.
- After I cancel the 'Close Track/Session/Disc' thing, the disc still shows as empty.
- I have the "Duplex Secure's SPTD driver can have a detrimental effect on drive performance." message because I DO have Daemon Tools installed (as it can be seen, Drive 2 is the virtual unit. I'm using the HP one)
- I tried burning with a lower speed, same problem.
So I have 2 options:
- Maybe the Duplex Secure's SPTD driver is indeed affecting the drive's performance, or...
- The drive is busted.
Help?
UPDATE: I uninstalled Daemon Tools AND the SPTD driver. Guess it's time for a new drive
