  1. Went to my local Best Buy, they had exactly ONE cake box of 20 Verbatims from Singapore left. Using these babies, I got NO problems burning. Someone seriously needs to kick a Verbatim executive in the balls. The reason anyone gave a shit about their company was that they made more expensive but high-quality products. Try to cut costs and degrade your products, you just joined the crowd of other media losers. I wonder where that leaves us when we need more discs... seems like these Indian Verbs are flooding everywhere. Anyone got a good place where you can actually ASK specifically for Singapores?
  2. I just find it crazy these discs straight up DON'T WORK, it's not like they'll burn but fail earlier, or burn fine but not play. Most of the complaints I read online are about the Indian Verbs failing after being burned. It's way past the 30-day period or whatever but I guess I'll email Supermediastore...
  3. Oh noes, it's made in India... I bought a 100 pack that came in 5 cakes of 20 discs. I am on the last cake, so I don't know if the first 80 were Singapore or not... Any way to know if your Verbatims are India or not?? No way to avoid it??
  4. I'll have to get back to you on that tonight, when I go home. Are you suggesting these are fake Verbatims or something??
  5. SuperMediaStore, they had a special or something.
  6. Is there any way to determine whether it's the drive or the Verbatim disks? I got the Verbatims as part of a 100-disc package, seems more likely it's the drive by default, I guess.
  7. There's nothing else it could be?? I thought Pioneer drives are very good. Mine is maybe close to 3 years old... is there a highly recommended replacement drive?
  8. Hi all, My project has been to back up my 7 seasons of Star Trek: TNG, it's pretty old now and some of the discs are very worn. I had great success burning seasons 1-5 onto Verbatim DVD+R DL, then ran into problems with seasons 6 and 7. Someone on this forum advised me to reduce burn speed to 2.4x (slowest), that worked for a couple more DVDs. Now I have ruined 4-5 discs trying to burn season 6 and 7 DVDs, getting the same result each time: either an immediate "Power calibration error" or a "DVD+R DL boundary" error. I tried borrowing clean discs from my public library and burning them (after all I own the master set), but amazingly the SAME errors crop up! My burner is a Pioneer DVR-110D, updated with LATEST firmware. I have pasted logs from two such failures below. Would appreciate ANY IDEAS, THANKS in advance!! 9. Wow, changed it to 2.4x speed this time and it made all the difference. Boy do I feel dumb. Thanks you guys!

  11. Hi guys, I've been trying to burn a double-layer DVD using my trusty Pioneer DVR-110D (latest firmware) and Verbatim DL discs. They usually work together like an absolute charm. However on this particular disc, I received an "invalid address to write" message upon trying to burn the ISO file. So I took apart the ISO and used Build mode to rebuild it. When I did so, I got the following weird Layer Break Positions (see attached JPG). I tried using the VTS_03 as the break, then the first choice (VTS_02_0.BUP). Both resulted in the same message as earlier. Anyone know what's going on? I tried looking thru the guide fpr burning DL DVDs, no luck. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
