  1. I received my 50gb D/L Verbatim disc today and successfully burnt the 8 Harry potter films as AVCHD files. I did leave the tick in the box to "Prefer format without spare areas" and it plays on my LG Blu-Ray player to my TV with excellent quality film. Thanks for your help Lightning.

  2. Thank you very much lightning. I will remember that for future use. When the disc comes next week I will burn it and let you know here, how I got on. If my drive messes up, I will put that down to experience. So far I have never had a bad disc using ImgBurn.

  3. I don't know as this is the first Blu-Ray BD-R-DL disc I have ever bought. The BD-RE disc I had to format because ImgBurn wouldn't write to it without, that was done with the tick out of the "Prefer format without spare areas" does it only format new BD-RE disc's then? I just wanted to make sure of writing the 8 films to one disc, trying not to make an ash-tray out of it. I have successfully written 5 AVCHD films to the BD-RE 25GB disc without problems and it plays all films fine on my LG player to my TV, with 5.1 sound and excellent quality video.

  4. The settings of ImgBurnI have successfully written files using MultiAVCHD using my DVD collection and burnt them onto a PanasonicBD-RE 25GB disc without any problems many times over using ImgBurn. I have just bought 1 single Verbatim 50GB-R D/L disc for my full collection of Harry Potter disc's, total output 45.5GB AVCHD. Would it be better in the write section of ImgBurn to have the tick in the setting "Prefer format without spare areas" or take it out? I will only be able to have one shot at this.

  5. I have several small avi's of our holidays I made into Blu-Ray iso's, after burning them with Imageburn, my Blu-Ray player attached to my TV will not play them. If I make them into Blu-Ray folders and then burn them using Imageburn they play fine on my TV, Another question is, can I burn more than one Blu-Ray folder in Imageburn, as long as I don't exceed 25GB. I know there is a queuing system but wasn't sure if it would do that.

  6. Hi Lightning, yes I am testing them with the actual BD-RE disc in my computer using PowerDVD9 with the patch update. It plays just fine on my computer, but not on my TV through my LG Player. The only thing I haven't done is a full format using the tick in or out of the box, so will have to try that next. I haven't even tried a new Blu-Ray film in my LGBD550 to TV yet, so will have to go and hire one to see if it works OK. I only just bought that too. I will keep trying.

  7. I have had the tick in the box and out of the box where it says "Prefer Format Without Spare Areas" is that what you mean? I have just completed two films from ISO files, one made with Imgeburn and one with Freemake. Both burnt using Imageburn and play fine on my computer but not in my LGBD550 Blu-Ray player attached to my TV. Nothing wrong with Imageburn, it seems so I am guessing it must be my stand alone player that wont play these films, although the manual for that says it plays BDRE/R. Glad I only bought a BD-RE to try first at the moment. It doesn't recommend Verbatim like I use for ordinary DVD films. Mitsubishi, Kagaku Media, Maxell, Sony and Panasonic, which I used for trial. To format do I use the ReZero, I can't see format in the right click?

  8. I notice when I try to burn my Panasonic BD-RE, Imageburn tells me it has to do it at 2.4 but the disc cover says 1-2x and nothing about 2.4 on it. So if my new LG burner only writes at 2.4 is the BD-RE not compatible with imageburn settings of 2x. My manual says the LG BH10 will burn these disc's at 2x/2x I have put that reading in for the media but it doesn't recognise it. Perhaps that is why my disc's do not play on my LG Player, because they are burning too fast. Is this a possibility. Have tried other forums without luck.

  9. Hi I just installed a new LG BH10 Blu Ray writer and updated the firmware straight away, and burnt my first disc which plays great on my computer but not in my LG Blu Ray player to my TV. At the moment I am just trying it again. I just wondered if you viewed my log you could tell me if I could have done anything different. LG recommend the Panasonic BD-RE so that is what I used.

  10. I don't know if this is a stupid question or not. If I make a film of photos with menus and chapters in Pinnacle Studio for a friend in the USA, would they be able to watch it in their NTSC machines. I know we can in our DVD players, but really I wanted to know if it was possible to just make it as NTSC with Image Burn.

  11. maybe if the pinnacle project with 6 video titles in it can be output to iso.

I meant six already made individual films with title and chapters. I know it will make an .iso with titles if I make all six as one in Pinnacle with chapters, but sometimes the longer the film goes the audio goes out of sync.

I just wondered if ImgBurn would write them as one file maintaining the menus and chapters.

  12. I personally use the UK version but do use USA type as well because of website building. HTML doesn't recognise true English spelling. I also like spelling how a word sounds too, like program I always use that and another center. I also like, that you all have a sense of humour.

  13. Thank you for all your answers especially about what I mentioned (Will not mention again I promise) But one thing I must say I didn't think you would discuss tits on here either. The answer that blutach gave in another posting here had me and my wife in stitches. Thank you for a good laugh. Aimed at Volvofl10 typo error. Just for your information when I type online I have a free program called IESpell which I check with if there isn't a spell check on the forum.

  14. I don't understand what an MDS file is but I just found out what it does when I used one of my DVD films to see what ImgBurn did in the read file mode. I was expecting it to make VOB files but instead it made an ISO file, then when I bought it into ImgBurn it told me off for not selecting the MDS file but it would do it for me this time but don't do it again. If it would burn without a problem fine but I doubt it.

I have yet to find out when in Mode, does the Discovery mode do? I have just found out what the read does.

To be honest my grandson who likes watching all my Shrek and so on films quite often puts marks on them ( He is nearly 3) so I like to keep copies instead of my originals and that mean s ripping them with something like DVDFab, which I am not sure Imgburn would do that. I really don't want a sermon about ripping because I think when I buy something it is mine, and quite frankly I can get most of these films straight from the TV without any bother about what is legal and what is not. After all what do people make these programs for. I think they all deserve medals.

  15. I have never actually used DVD Shrink to capture files only DVD Fab, once the VIDEO_TS folder was on my hard drive I selected ImgBurn in build mode. The way I did it was to select the build ImgBurn mode VTS files, bought them back into DVD Shrink and made an ISO file again and then burnt it with ImgBurn, which gave me one layer break with OK greyed out, apart from a box at the bottom which I either ticked or unticked. It worked OK but not sure what the box I ticked or unticked was except it was the one on the extreme left.

  16. Thank you for reply, but can you tell me why it is a bad idea to make a D/L disc the way I did please. This after all was the one that worked where the other in ImgBurn build mode didn't. I have made several the way you suggested perfectly with the Ricoh D/L disc's, but not with the first Verbatim D/L disc I have used.

I have followed all the tutorials I printed from the forum to the letter. Can you also tell me what you mean by "Output to files" I find the VTS files where I keep them and use ImgBurn to use build mode, is this correct?

  17. Having taken advice on the Verbatim MKM-001-00 x 2.4 in the build mode of ImgBurn I made my first coaster. Trying again I used DVD Shrink with a dual layer disc setting to Full Back-up and them burnt it with ImgBurn perfectly at 2.4 speed. I don't know if I contributed to the failure with my first try, because I put a printable label on it, so would like opinions if that should be avoided please.

My two DVD burners are the TSSTcorp SH-S182D D/L burner and NEC ND-3580A both firmware up to date, and both excellent with my discs.

I previously used the Ricohjpn-D01-67 printable D/L discs both ways and have had great success with them only finding two discs that were not good. I test them in Nero Toolkit DVD speed after burning and if I find one bit of yellow or red using ScanDisc I throw them away, because I know my Denon DVD-2910 is a bit choosy if the discs are not perfect, although my Panasonic DMR-ES30VEB may play them. Nero will say what chapter the disc is damaged or bad and mark the chapter so it is easy to go straight to that particular chapter on my two DVD players to see what happens. Normally it breaks up or just stops.

I thought this information might help others who can't decide which discs should or shouldn't be used.
