Cannot change booktype: Failed Invalid Field in CDB

I have a LG HL-DT-ST BD-RE BH14NS40 1.00 (ATA).

 

I need to burn a double layer and need the book type to be DVDROM. Every attempt give me the error Failed! Reason: Invalid field in CDB. This is a branndnew Blueray drive with up to date firmware. It burns error free. I just can't change the BookType. Below in the log file. Is this drive just not compatible?
