BD-RE 50GB - 3D AVATAR ISO does not fit on Disc

Recommended Posts

Hi All, I was hoping you can help me, am reasonably technical but this has been racking my brain.

I have Avatar 3d as part of my 3D TV package and I wanted to back it up so I do not damage the original. I have used the method recommended which is use clone method in DVDfab and make a 1:1 ISO image (latest beta of DVDFAB). However when I copy it to a BD-RE GB it says not enough space for the image. Can some one help or advise.

I have formatted the disk when I first got it but am not sure if I did it correctly to make use of maximum space. Can someone advise the specific options and steps in Imgburn to follow to make sure it gives me the maximum capacity (don't mind reformatting again although it takes time). Any help or advise is appreciated,

Thanks,

E.

Many thanks for your help, much appreciated...

Hi Lightning, am absolutly speechless, you were spot on.

Just to summarise as per your advise:

Updated firmware to 1.11 Pioneer 205BLK

Selected 'Prefer Format Without Spare Areas' enabled in the settings(Write tab),and selected "Maximum prefered" from the pulldownmenu in the same area.

Formatted using Full/Erase

Many many thanks kind sir, efficient, professional and a very fast response/resolution. Goes without saying regarding Imgburn, it's pure class...

You can/should leave the 'Prefer Format Size' option on 'Preferred'. It doesn't apply unless you're formatting WITH spare areas - in which case it's best to use what the drive manufacturers program the firmware for.

No need to format the disc again after reverting it to the default setting, your discs is fine as it is now (after formatting without spare areas).
