Cool56, first, the newest firmware for your drive is 1.29, not 1.23. www.rpc1.org

Secondly, the Riteks you are using are pretty lousy, try getting some Verbatim +DLs and give your burn a whirl. Post back and let us know. Also set your burn speed to 2.4X not max, as this is the speed those discs are rated for. :)

Hi Kev - your sig says you have the Pioneer DVR-111D, have you not flashed it to the DVR-111 ? I did it with mine and it was no fuss at all, now the drive happily burns DVD-RAM discs as well :)

Didn't reralize that lfc......... will look into it and flash it right away.......... from rpc..... or liggys ? Thanks for the info mate! :)

I think I got the info from rpc mate, hang on will see if I can find it all again.....

Mmm ok I can't find the original post I read on this before, think it was at cdfreaks but from memory you need to go to the Dangerous Bros pages, here:

http://tdb.rpc1.org/#DVR111D

Then select the 1.06* firmware for your DVR-111D and flash it. Then from the same page above I think you select the 1.29 firmware for the DVR-111 and flash the drive again. I think it will then be a DVR-111 with Ram write capabilities :)

You might want to search cdfreaks first tho as I am sure that is where I found the instructions and links to the fw kev....

Yeah this post seems to look familiar and it's by one of the Bros :)

Yep that's it Kev - happy flashing mate ! =))

Yeah I saw that but I have lightscribe with the BenQ and it's shit compared to white printable discs and my Epson so couldn't be bothered.

Posted

Know what you mean, the nec i got has labelflash, I got some Fuji disc's, just need to install Nero 7 now to be able to use that feature.

Your right epson compats and printable disc's are so much cheaper why bother with lightscribe or labelflash.

lfc, I love flashing........:lol: . Went over without a hitch mate. Thanks...... :)

Pleased it all went ok Kev - was it more or less as I posted  ?

Donta - to be honest the lightscribe's look shit and they take 30 minutes to do a decent quality image, it's so much easier to just print on the discs !
